Los Angeles County School of Nursing

Any one here graduates of the program? Or are in the program?

School patch and stripe is sold by the Student Council at the beginning of the school year.

WeepyWillow, the only other packet I received via mail was for financial aid. Just some forms I had to fill out and return.

I'm going to do some internet shopping for the bp cuff and stethoscope. I'll report back if I find anything. The advice I've seen is to get something good, but not fancy because it can get stolen.

At the pre-registration day, she mentioned all heart.com to find a package that includes the bp cuff & stethoscope...

For those who got the health clearance, you just need to get the paper from them saying that you're cleared and the respirator fit certificate, right? Did any of you meet with....not supposed to use names here so....the person we called to schedule the clearance appointment? I didn't meet with her.

It was chaotic when I went and there was a bit of a battle about verifying my varicella titer. They brushed off my questions about filling out the forms but gave me the paper saying I was cleared any way. Hope that doesn't come back to haunt me.

Hey Everyone!

I am also part of the class of 2014 in LA County, and congrats to my other fellow classmates that got in. :) Although I haven't been posting any comments on this forum, I have been reading the comments everyday (just in case I missed something in the laundry list of things that we are suppose to do). In one of the comments, someone asked about a facebook group. So, since I couldn't find any, I made one.

It's called "LA County School of Nursing Class of 2014"

It's a place where we all can ask questions, form study session groups, etc. :)

Willowita, I think I remember seeing you at the Pre-registration meeting in June. :) You always seem so informative on everything (I was the one who asked about Nursing Kits), so i hope you could add the group if you have a facebook. :)

Thank you everyone and I hope to see you all in orientation week!!

Thanks @mahiru926. This will be my first time joining Facebook. I too think this will be the best way to communicate.

Hi Mahiru,

Thanks for creating the Facebook page but I tried looking for it and didn't find it in a search.

Hmmm, strange. I made the group status as "open" but I'm thinking that I would have to add everyone as a friend and then invite them into the group. I would live to put my name on here, but I don't think they allow me.... Marylou Aclan?

O cool! Hahahaha, it allowed me to. As long as no one flags me down for it. Kk, just add me as a friend on Facebook and I'll right away add everyone to the group. :) thanks for the heads up!

So, I tried searching for the group on Facebook. For me, I found it right away (it has an icon of a red cross on a briefcase).Just make sure that when you type it in, put no quotation marks and that the "LA" is capitalized. If that still doesn't work, then add me on Facebook. :) I attempted to put my name on a comment in the forum and it worked. Hahahaha, hope I don't get into trouble.

mahiru, I sent you a friend request. I also met you today!

Hahahaha! I know! I'm slowly getting to know the students in the class and everything. And, finally, I got a letter in the mail about orientation week! :)))
