Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health - Fall 2014 Applicants

Published

Hello future nurses!

I am starting this new thread for everybody that is planning to apply to County's nursing program for Fall 2014. I am still waiting for their posting the information session date on their website; hopefully, it will not take long since the application period has already started. How many of you are planning to apply for Fall 2014. I am just finishing my last prerequisite and hope to apply by the end of December or beginning of January. Good luck to us all!

Cheers!

If I pass the TEAS with a 75% or higher, I will have 83 points. If I score under that, I would have 78 points. Last fall the cut off was 78 points. What about you? How many points will you have?

Also, last fall they accepted 50 students. That's what they said at the information session, I don't recall if they mentioned the number of applicants though.

You should be receiving your TEAS notification letter soon

I am SO happy and anxious for you and i dont even know you! Hahahaha. If i pass teas at 75 or higher, i will have 87 pts. Otherwise, if i just make the minimum score i will be at 82 pts. I sure hope i get my letter soon! More importantly, i hope i pass it! I love hearing about everyones success stories and seeing all the updates!

I just received my letter from county to schedule my teas test!!! I'm so excited!!!

Yaaaaaay! We both got it! What date will you choose? I am going with the latest one. I am so busy with my current classes, I don't know how I'll be able to squeeze the teas studying in. Will you first schedule the teas with the county and then register with the ati and get that code they mentioned on the invitation letter?

I just checked their graduation statistics they enclosed in the letter of invitation. Only 19% of students graduated on time in two years. That is pretty scary. I heard that not too many people graduate from their program from many people. Now I'm worried

That may be true, but consider everyones circumstances, etc. All nursing programs a hard and push people to their limit. Dont be one and you will be fine. On the other hand, County has a fabulous NCLEX pass rate. In the high 90's.

I'm choosing the latest one too. My math and speech classes, along with working full time are consuming my time. I haven't had the time to study the teas manual as much as I would like. I'm not sure how I will be handling everything with scheduling the teas. I didn't have a chance to read through everything. I was going to bring the paperwork to work with me today, so that I could go over everything, but I forgot it at home :( How do you plan on it, are going to schedule it with the county?

That I saw those stats, that is a small amount. I was really surprised. It just reminded me that I have to really work hard and stay dedicated, so that I can be apart of that 19% :)

Well, you're also applying to other schools, so if you're not sure about county, you have other options.

Thanks! It was hard work and dedication. Those points are only good if they invite me! Hahaha. After you and enzyme posted you got you letters, i started panicking that i didnt have mine yet. Sigh. I confirmed they had everything again on Friday so we shall see! I will call them this week if nothing by like Wednesday. I have to reminf myself they have a ton of applications and transcripts to review.

Don't worry, they will send you yours soon. When did you submit your application? I submitted mine pretty early-- December. I think enzyme submitted hers around the same time.

They received mine 1/21.

I am 100 % sure about County as this is my number 1 choice. I am applying to two other schools just as a backup plan, but I hope I will get into County. We just have to put our best to get the best results and get squeezed into those 19% :-)

They received mine before Christmas. I guess that's why some people got their letters earlier, because their application was processed earlier. Don't worry, you'll get one too. There's no reason why you shouldn't since you have high scores on their point system.
