Hello! I decided to open up this new thread for those applying for Spring 2014 entry at LA County College of Nursing. I recently took my TEAS for the first time, and I'm so relieved that it is over! Now the wait... A bit nervous about the whole process, but I am very hopeful. Anyway, just wondering who else out there has applied!
Hi, I applied to County as well, and am hopeful but nervous! I got A's on all my sciences, but did not take sociology (not a "hard prereq")...so have only 81 points...gulp! Got a good TEAS score of 94.7, but that won't help much after the 20 points....so I'm anxious! Best of luck to all of you, hope we all get in!

I'm sure you will get in! I've since stopped worrying bc it's not worth my stress! lol But I do hope we all get in! Where are you located, if you don't mind me asking?

Hi, Thanks for the kind words...I'm trying not to stress, but I'd like to get in somewhere this spring, especially county. I'm in Glendale, and county's pretty close...where else have you applied?

Yes, that is close. My hubby works in Burbank...but we live in the West Valley! So there is a commute, but not too bad. I only applied to LA County, Moorpark, LACC & PCC. What about you?

I applied to County as well and other schools also..im stress out but I have to think positive...
After going through other threads re: County, I was a bit concerned after reading that letters are supposed to go out at the end of November / early December. I don't know about you, but this hardly gives many of us any wiggle room in terms of getting things in order by the first day of class on January 13th, should we get accepted into the program (especially since the holidays are coming up). This is also problematic for those who have already gotten accepted to other nursing schools and have County as their first choice, since many of the deadlines for paperwork are fast approaching (or worst yet, have already passed).
I was very hopeful that we would be notified by mid-November, only because I was told via (an earlier) email by one particular staff member that notifications would go out by then. Additionally, it was around this same time last year that my friend (who is now in her 2nd semester of nursing at County), received her acceptance letter (for Spring entrance). With that said, I just recently gave a ring to County and expressed my concerns and was told that yes, it is possible (but not set in stone, mind you) to have notifications sent out mid-November, but they only say "end of November / beginning of December," because that is when "everyone" will know for sure. Now I'm not sure what they exactly mean by "everyone," but perhaps they don't send out letters at the same time. But whatever it means, I will cross my fingers that I hear something by the middle of the month rather than at the end of it! I've already gotten accepted into another school, but County is still #1. At least for now. If I hear / receive anything at all, I will be sure to post! And to those that have also applied to County, please kindly do the same! Best of luck to everyone, we are surely in this together! :)
Did you guys receive a mail from county?? I just got my letter in the mail today from county and I got in! I didn't expect a letter this early. I was expecting to hear back from county in late-november or early december.
Did you apply for the bridge program or generic? Oh gosh! Im scared now! But thats a good news!
