Can anyone please give me some recommendations on a good LPN program in the Tampa Bay area? I am looking into Galen Health Ist. in St Pete and Keisesr College. I interviewed at Gulf Coast College in Tampa, and that place was not very inpressive. I will not be going there.

If there are any LPN's that can give me some advice about schools in area I would really appreciate it, as I am not too fiamilar with them. I am looking to start school as soon as possiable!

Thanks

Hi I live in the tampa bay are to. I am also activly looking for an LPN school, I'm 29 and never been to college. Did you find a school? I'm currently tanking a CNA class, if that counts for anything.

Hey! I live in the St petersburg area, but used to live in Tampa. I know that in Tampa Erwin Technical Center has an LPN program. Their next classes do not start until next year and their next evening course begins in 2010 :o( I am in the process of applying to Pinellas Techical (PTEC) in St petersburg, they have a class beginning on Oct 23rd and another class in January. Unfortunatly they only have a day class, no evenings. The application deadline for the October class is September 26th so it would be cutting it really close. This is the class I am applying to.

Both of these schools are public schools governed by the school board, and they try to gear it so you can easily transfer into an RN program at the Community Colleges. I believe Erwin still uses a waiting list/lottery method for entry. PTEC selects students by having a comittee review application packets and rewarding points for test scores, etc. Those with the highest scores get accepted.

Erwin requires all students to take the TABE (literacy)test, and PTEC requires the TABE and TEAS.

I think the tuition, books, and fees for both of these school are similar. PTEC is around $5000 for tuition, books, and fees. (Estimated at $500 every 9 weeks for tuition).Whew, that was long winded :typing but Hope this helps and Good Luck! :wink2:

Wow! Thank you for being so helpful!!! I just applied to PHCC, but was debating about trying Pin. tech. also.

If you are willing to go south of the Bay, Manatee Technical Institue has a good LPN program.
