I am looking for a LPN program in Colorado. I heard Emily Griffith has a great program but I want to later move into RN program. I also checked in Regis What do you think?
NCAHLC (the link you gave) and NLNAC are 2 completely different organizations. NLN is the standard by which most programs are accredited. Hopefully, NLNAC will update the page and list DSN as a candidate.
Ah... OK. Hopefully it is just a slow update on NLN's part. DSN wouldn't be publicly claiming they had candidacy if they didn't, would they? Seems like a good way to not get it.
Okay, now I remember seeing that for the traditional program tuition, so yes that would be $60k. The ABSN and CHOICE are different. Thanks! I was starting to worry.
CHOICE is still going to be a little over $40K (don't forget those required upper division electives).
ABSN is going to be just under $38K (extra fees and the ethics class aren't included in that 57 credit list)
I spoke to a women from NLN (the contact info is on their site) NLN accreditation takes anywhere from a few monthes to 2 years. She said it depends on how quickly the school wanted to move along. Also Univery of Kansas takes DSN's current accreditation. I was concerned because I do want to go to grad school, but not University of Phoenix.
They are 2 different accreditations. As I have had it explained to me DSN wanted HLC candidacy before NLN. They are planning on having a MSN program in the near future and HLC is regional accreditation that is required. We were told regional accreditation would be achieved before NLN. Our Dean has stated we have all the paperwork in for NLN candidacy and should have full approval by July.
Hope this clarifies!
Does anyone have experience with the residency program at UCH? (Admission for the February cohort ended last week.) They seem to have a variety of openings, but I am wondering if they only accept new grads from the Denver area or is it a national candidate pool? What are they looking for?
Hi, I have been provisionally accepted as a nursing student at MSCD for Jan 2010. My name is Theresa. I also think it would be beneficial to get to know some of the people who will be potentially attending. Write me a note and let me know a little bit about you.
I currently conduct HIV research at UCHSC. I decided to become a nurse and hopefully will be attending the same time you are.
See ya,
Theresa
ps have you received the packet we were supposed to get for the backround and drug check yet?
