Looking for LPN school in Colorado

U.S.A. Colorado

Published

I am looking for a LPN program in Colorado. I heard Emily Griffith has a great program but I want to later move into RN program. I also checked in Regis What do you think?

Thanks for the info, I was worried after finding out that UCD applications were for next year, I did not want Metro to be the same thing. Good to hear we will hear by October, I excited to start as soon as possible (if I get in). Are you applying other places?

I applied to CU and Regis. I don't think I have a chance at CU with my GPA but I figured it was worth a shot. I'd prefer Regis over Metro because of the May start date. My company gives bonuses in March so it is a big financial boost. We'll see what happens.

How about you?

I applied to Metro and I am applying to CU, I want to start as soon as possible so I hope I get into Metro. CU's program looks way harder to get into, but I know people who got accepted without great GPAs.

Hey everyone,

I start the BSN program at Denver School of Nursing in October. How much time outside of school should I expect to spend the first semester? Did you study in groups or on your own? I've heard it is brutal. Will I still have anything that resembles a life, LOL? Just curious about others experiences at DSN. Thanks! :)

hi pjsmom,

I will be starting DSN in October too...I'm sure it will be difficult and we need to manage our time well. See you during orientation!!

Hi CM1215, I'm starting in Oct. and just moved to colorado. There is a nice apartment steps from the englewood light rail station...

hey inusa123...you got into the Oct. start!?!?! Thats awesome! when did you find out? I'm tempted to call Kelly and see if there is any more spots!

Hello... I have to say I'm happy that you are doing your research on the nursing schools in Colorado! I am a May 09' Metro graduate. I hope that some of the information I may give you will help you to make an educated decision as to which school to go to. From my experience, Metro was just ok - NOTHING spectacular! My application process was also a major pain like yours. Once accepted into the program, I felt as though it was extremely unorganized and some teachers just didn't care. Two of the best teachers in the program left at the end of our cohort :( I personally disliked a majority of my clinical placements. I felt as though we were placed at sites just to get hours to graduate NOT TO LEARN! Honestly, there was no intelligent decision making that went into clinical placements. Due to this lack of quality, my clinical skills SUFFERED!!!!! The good news is yes Metros pass rate is 100% THE BAD NEWS... ONLY 2% OF THE GRADUATING CLASS NOW HAS A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! Since I have graduated, I have tried to contact teachers through phone calls and email... I have gotten slow responses if any at all! I feel as though the teachers just don't give a damn now that I'm not paying tuition! Well, enough of my ranting and raving... make your decision wisely! Good luck in all of your nursing endeavors.

Hi neighbors, lol

I have a few questions.......I am a student at University of New Mexico about to graduate with my Biological Anthropology degree in spring 2010!! Since New Mexico only has a few i am applying to many nursing programs around my home state. So i am applying to the University of Colorado-Denver nursing school. I just had a few questions for those that are fimilar with the area and school.

1. I am applying to the accelerated BSN program. Does anybody know how competitve it is getting into the program?

2. Anything good or bad about the university of colorado-denver?

3. What about denver its self? hows the city? is the area nice around school?

4. Is the school nice?

5. Those that have been through the BSN or ABSN program, can you tell me the good or bad things?

I would appreciate any insight!!!!

Thanks :wink2:

I am so relieved I have been totally stressing over this!! I think the lowest score I got in any section was a 91.3 and an overall of 93.2%. Anyone who is getting ready for this test study the Evolve Reach book it is a godsend!! So finally at 29 I am enrolled in the October full BSN program at DSON!!:yeah:
