Looking for Fellow KU Nursing Students Accepted for Fall 2014

Published

I got my acceptance letter to KU School of Nursing and am looking for anyone else who may have been accepted for Fall of 2014! Anyone else starting KU and going to be in the class of May 2016?

I'm heading there this fall as well. I'm active duty Marine Corps and was selected for a commissioning program for the Navy Nurse Corps. I'll be heading to Kansas from San Diego some time next month; taking some classes this summer as I'm required to be full time the entire time while I'm in the program.

Will you be attending the program as normal for the two years? Or does the Marines have you doing something different? I don't know anyone else going and I'd hate to not know anyone going in!

I'll be a regular student just like everyone else. The only difference is I will still be on active duty and I am required to be a full time student the entire time (summer school). Once I finish I'll be commissioned in the Navy and then once I pass the NCLEX I'll be designated as a Nurse Corps officer. I saw that other classes have a Facebook group, wondering who will start it or if maybe we should?

I was wondering the same thing, but I'm sure those were started after classes started. Even if we did start one, we wouldn't know who to add so it probably wouldn't work yet! That's great that you are going to be a regular student! I didn't ever take college classes while I was in, and particularly for my rate so I wasn't sure how it worked. Like I said before, I'd like to know at least a person or two before showing up the first time so I don't feel completely alone. I'm very nervous as is!

I can't wait to get started honestly! Don't want to forget more than I already have from all the prereqs!
