Hello...
I will be relocating to :redbeatheChicago:redbeathe soon and I'm very interested in hearing where people think I should be looking for work. I am a newborn nursery and postpartum nurse, and plan to learn labor room too. I love women's health and newborns...does anyone have any hosptial recommendations? Thanks!
I look forward to hearing from you all!

Are you moving to the city or the suburbs? That makes a difference. Childrens Memorial downtown is a great hospital... but if you are living in the suburbs, I would advise against that commute.
I've lived here my whole life... (well except for right now while I'm on a travel assignment in WA). :)
Hi! Yes, we plan on living in the city...we have been looking up mainly up north, hyde park (which is south), and the only suburbs that we are considering at this point are oak park/riverforest/forest park...but 290 is a killer during rush hour so we prefer the city! Thanks!
I would look at Northwestern, Rush, UIC, and Children's.

agree with the above. hyde park has the University of Chicago hospital but they are having major financial issues, so its not good to apply there. good luck!!!!

My heart belongs to Children's Memorial but if you are wanting to do Mom/ Baby and L&D..... I would say Northwestern- very close to where you are looking to live. Also, there is a great "little community" hospital in Lincoln Park called Illionois Masonic, many of my freinds had their babies there and were soooooo happy with their care. Then, if you want the L&D "baptisim by fire approach" you could try Rush or even County(except they are ususally on a hiring freeze).Good luck with the move--- you will LOVE the city!
thanks for all your help! i really appreciate it!
