days, weeks, months who knows....... my experience.......... I met w/ my recruiter after speaking with him briefly on the phone, he drove up from his office approx. 50 miles to meet w/ me............ and he had the packet w/ the application on him. The application itself is undaunting.......... getting a lot of the paperwork together is the challenge.... you need your birth cert, official transcripts, other documents like your references (5) that need to be completed using the 195 form..... if you're going for a specialty you need documentation from your workplace indicating you've got at least 1500 hrs. employment/training in that specialty and there''s a checklist that needs to be completed, your RN license etc. (acls, bls etc), there are consents to be signed as they look at your background (credit, criminal etc).
It all depends upon how motivated all parties are. I started my paperwork beginning of October and was ready for board about a month after that............ It also depends upon how motivated your recruiter is.

Amen to that!
I never received my "sign-on" bonus when I went into the ANC Reserves as a Commissioned Officer because my Recruiter never filed the paperwork. It was all signed and delivered, or so I thought, only to find nope, no record.
Now I am trying (note the word trying) to get some, if not all, of the bonus that I had signed the paperwork for.
Next to impossible....so far

Hi Athena,
I had a similar experience. My bonus Paperwork was not sent (accidently). I was able to get my bonus months later, but I had to go back to my recruiter and request my paperwork to be sent to HRC, then wait for the new fiscal yr (no $$).....
Good luck with your quest!

hmmmm....... well............ i'll just input that I'm not expecting that anytime soon although I have a family situation that is reliant on part of it....... I am not holding my breath that it'll get here in time to help my daughter out.
Hi runnin,
If you want, you can check on your "incentive money status" at HRC...select the incentives/loan repayment choice on the telephone menu bar....eventually you will get to speak with someone who can check whether they have your paperwork and when the $$ will drop into your account.........it should be within the first few months after you commission.
good luck,

over what time period is the 1500 hrs required - is that per year or just total in that specialty? and how recent does that time have to be?
i've been out of the er clinical arena for about 5 yrs enjoying the birth and early years of our first born - i'm looking to get back to a contingent er position and possibly enter the reserves (not sure what branch yet), and would like that to be my specialty area. i work full time as a ff/emt-p, though i'm sure that does not have any bearing on the hour requirements. any info or advice ywhich you (or anyone with some info!) may have would be appreciated.
thanks,

Buckeye,
You can speak with a healthcare recruiter concerning the "identifier specifics", I believe only RN experience can be used towards the 1500 hr minimum. For me, I had to have 1500 (or 1800) in the last year (basically working full time) and more than 700 (?) at my current employment.
When you have commissioned, you can call HRC and speak with a "career manager" about acquiring a "skill idenitifer" and the forms for it..........or google it and print the forms (forum 1212 for ICU, plus a letter from your manager).
