U.S.A. Texas

Hi there everyone. I'm one of the 2015 hopefuls for lonestar. Just wondering if anyone has any information on application datelines for 2015 spring. The school sites don't happen to have that info(unless, I am missing something). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

There are places that do a fast series, search online. Bc they won't give an extension just bc you're last shot is due on the 20th :/ they do them for ppl who need to travel last minute so see what places will do your hep B earlier.

@Aleeceness Ok thats what im going to do for sure!!! im looking it up now with the Travel passport people online!!

Thanks!!

For us at cyfair they moved the due date back a couple of weeks. You should speak with the coordinator about this asap and let her know. Cyfair doesn't do clinicals first semester so it wasn't an immediate need for us.

Hello everyone!

I am new in here:) congrats to all those who got accepted to the cy/kingwood program!!! For those on the alternate list, don't lose hope! Stay positive!! I got into the kingwood adn program as well.

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO WAS ACCEPTED INTO THE NURSING PROGRAM!!! I remember feeling exactly like you all when I received my acceptance letter to Kingwood. Get ready for a interesting ride! Nursing school is like no other but it is so worth it. You may feel extremely overwhelmed in the beginning but soon after you will get adjusted to everything. It is A LOT of hard work, but if I can do it SO CAN YOU! I started in January 2013 and now I am less than 3 months away from my pinning! (SUPER EXCITED) At times you may feel like giving up, but don't! Remember why you applied to Nursing School in the first place. I'm thinking about applying to Kingwood Medical Center, so I may even get to work with some of you during your clinical rotations! Remember to always stay focused and positive. Don't get behind on your assignments, EVER! We do something called PREP U and if y'all have to do them, I recommend doing as many as you can when they are assigned to you. Trust me, it will make your life in Nursing School SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER! I am still here for any questions you may have. I don't mind helping people because I was once where you were and I wish I had someone to answer the million and one questions I had then. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!! #TEAMRN

@Aleeceness My mother could not find them... So I went and got a titer and I came out negative ... so i had to start the series over again... They said i might be immune to hep B and even with all three vaccines I could always show a negative result..

@scavila10

I have the same problem with the Hep B vaccine series. I had the Hep B 3 vaccine series when I was a baby. In MA school,I got another series. When I started my current job in 2007, they ordered a titer to see if it showed immunity and it came back negative. So I restarted another series. After I finished, I got another titer and it still showed negative. They said they weren't going to attempt a 3rd series because CDC only recommends 2. Well, I just submitted my shot record and titers to CertifiedProfile and it was Rejected. The comment I received was to contact the school admin regarding my negative titers since I already received the Hep B series 2 times. I hope this won't be a problem. It's getting me nervous. You should call the Nursing program administrator to check on that. I'm calling tomorrow 1st thing in the morning.

instead of submitting your titers, why didn't you just submit the actual vaccine hx? They need to see a completed series, three shots.....

My shot record had to be printed out from my employee account at work and there was no way to select/remove certain information since it's in my official employee file. All shots, tb test, titers are included in the same page.

Hmmmm well that's odd. I guess you can see what the nursing office says about it tomorrow.
