2015 Lonestar spring hopefuls.

Hi there everyone. I'm one of the 2015 hopefuls for lonestar. Just wondering if anyone has any information on application datelines for 2015 spring. The school sites don't happen to have that info(unless, I am missing something). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

Hello everyone and congrats to all that got in to Kingwood and CyFair nursing programs!!! I applied on a whim just to see my chances and received an alternate letter for the Cy-Fair ADN program. I'm wondering what the scores of the other alternates are? My score is 10.65. I received another email stating the school would not tell you what number you are on the alternate list....ugh

Alternates have to submit all documents as if they were accepted. If/when students were accepted give up their spots or fail to turn in documents by the deadline, the school will contact an alternate to fill those spots.

I was an alternate last year. Alternates go through the same thing as the ones accepted except they tell you that they will call you in January sometime if there is a spot. I never got that call but that doesnt mean another alternate was not called. One of the alternates that I ran into had an 11.00 so im sure she was one of the ones that got called because Dr. Herefered at Kingwood told me the lowest alternate one last year was a 10.9. My score was lower than that last year as an alternate. This year I got in with a 11.49

Congrats to everyone on their acceptance. It is good to create a facebook page for your own campus. Cyfair is the only campus with a block curriculum so they do things differently than Kingwood. We have one going for class and it keeps everyone up to date bc people post class reminders and study aids. One thing you will find out about nursing school is everyone for the most part sticks together. It also helps when you've already bonded with people prior to the first day of class.

Jump on your immunizations and get that out the way. You will be creating a certified background profile, your school contact will give you login information. Everything on that to do list will be scanned and uploaded into that profile.

Btw we have a lot of alternates in my class, so make sure you take care of everything because you are subject to the same deadlines and if you don't have your stuff together they will move on. When they are ready to move you out of that alternate spot they will call you at anytime.

@amood06 or anyone who might know the answer:

Hey does anyone know about your immunization shots, particulary the Hepatitis B, Ive already received 2 out of the 3 shots and my last shot is due December 20th which is past the December 1st due date.. Does anyone know how this works?

I have a friend who was an alternate two years ago and she said everyone was called. I wonder how many alternates are on the list. I was thinking of calling them to ask and then I received the email stating not to call.

If you have your childhood vaccines you don't need to complete the series! Just bring those records and you should be fine with what you have already gotten. I'm a level 2 student so I know lol.

@Aleeceness My mother could not find them... So I went and got a titer and I came out negative ... so i had to start the series over again... They said i might be immune to hep B and even with all three vaccines I could always show a negative result..
