2015 Lonestar spring hopefuls.

Published

Hi there everyone. I'm one of the 2015 hopefuls for lonestar. Just wondering if anyone has any information on application datelines for 2015 spring. The school sites don't happen to have that info(unless, I am missing something). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

How do you upload a profile pic? i went to dashboard and "upload profile pic" but even if I select the right size, it says "file not selected" after I save changes.

I got the FLU nasal spray 2 days ago, lying in bed sick like a dog with 100 fever... Lovely...

My friend that I am taking PHARM with is also sick at home since yesterday. She is vomiting every hour.

Makes me wonder what were the chances of getting that sick without this vaccine... Is it worth it? Seriously...

My shot record had to be printed out from my employee account at work and there was no way to select/remove certain information since it's in my official employee file. All shots, tb test, titers are included in the same page.

All my immunizations were on one page, so I just uploaded the same page over and over again in each todo list item and they accepted my records even though they were just one page

I used that same sheet for my TB, MMR and Varicella titers but since it showed the negative Hep B titers that's why they rejected it. I don't know why it shows 2 series on there. I already spoke to someone in the Nursing department and they helped me. Everything is fine, Thank God.

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO WAS ACCEPTED INTO THE NURSING PROGRAM!!! I remember feeling exactly like you all when I received my acceptance letter to Kingwood. Get ready for a interesting ride! Nursing school is like no other but it is so worth it. You may feel extremely overwhelmed in the beginning but soon after you will get adjusted to everything. It is A LOT of hard work, but if I can do it SO CAN YOU! I started in January 2013 and now I am less than 3 months away from my pinning! (SUPER EXCITED) At times you may feel like giving up, but don't! Remember why you applied to Nursing School in the first place. I'm thinking about applying to Kingwood Medical Center, so I may even get to work with some of you during your clinical rotations! Remember to always stay focused and positive. Don't get behind on your assignments, EVER! We do something called PREP U and if y'all have to do them, I recommend doing as many as you can when they are assigned to you. Trust me, it will make your life in Nursing School SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER! I am still here for any questions you may have. I don't mind helping people because I was once where you were and I wish I had someone to answer the million and one questions I had then. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!! #TEAMRN

Anything you recommend studying before we start in January?

@Christian O, Get all lab values stuck in your head as much as you can!!!!!

Ok so this may show my ignorance but umm.....what are lab values?

@Christian O, You're not ignorant and that's ok that you do not know but lab values are like references used by Nurses, doctors, etc which helps us interpret test results when a patient have his/her blood drawn. Some lab values are WBC, RBC, BUN, CREATININE, ABG's, PTT, PTT, INR, Hgb, Hct. You can google lab values and I'm sure a lot will pop up : )

How did you study/learn them? Since I have no base knowledge I would need to start from ground zero

Hey has anybody had their finger prints taken? I have my appointment on Saturday.
