Anyone applying?
Hi guys, I lost the paper that has the deadline to bring in the paper work. Can someone tell me when is the deadline to summit everything in? It's Nov 23? I'm also really nervous, I didn't get my fingerprint until nov 11. I didn't think it would take that long for the blue card to get send out. It will be around 10 days by november 23rd. I hope I get that darn card.

The deadline for everything is Nov. 23rd (except the TOFL exam for those wh have to take it).
I did my fingerprints on Nov. 4th and I'm still waiting on my blue card as well. I would think that since you have the receipt showing that you did the fingerprinting, they would give you more time to recieve the card, that is if you didn't get it before the deadline.
If the deadline approaches and you still haven't recieved the blue card, I would call the nursing dept. and ask them. I didn't realize that it took this long either.

Ok, I did my fingerprints on the 3rd and haven't gotten my blue card in the mail either. But there was an email update from Kim Anderson about the deadline for items being submitted has moved to Dec. 2nd. Not sure if this includes the blue card along with everything else. The blue card is all I have left to turn in
@Amandachs I know they said all communication would be through email, but I think that the only way they will tell you there's a spot available for you is through the phone call. I got the call last Friday at 3:00 pm and because I was in the mall i didn't hear my phone ringing so Ms. Anderson left me a voice message. I heard it 30 minutes later and what surprised me was that she said that if I didn't call her back before 5:00pm I will forfeit my position. So BE AWARE of your phone calls/voice messages because if she offers you a spot in the program you don't have a lot of time to decide and let her know whether or not you accept it.
Also, when did you get that email from her about moving the deadline to Dec. 2nd? I did receive an email from her today but it was just a reminder of the TOEFL test (which I have to take this Saturday )
I did my fingerprints on Nov. 7th, and I haven't gotten my blue card either... I hope I'll get it by the end of this week

and i am so so so glad you passed on that information about the phone call!!! starting next sunday i'll be covering night shifts for my co-worker so i will definately have my phone bedside during the day if that's the case!!! holy moly!! this whole thing is going to give me a heart attack.... and seeing how it could "technically" be another two months before i know that i won't be attending the spring semester with ya'll............................:grn:seriously. so many emotions about this whole thing.
And just as a heads up, do not email Ms Anderson asking where you are on the list or trying to make sure she has your correct contact information. I wrote 5 simple sentances and got a one liner in response "We do not give out where the students are on the alternate list." I don't think I will email her again, don't want to make her mad.
@Amandachs I would not take it personal, I am sure that Ms. Anderson is overwhelmed. When I went to submit my paperwork to the Nursing Department at Cy-Fair the director was there. She was huffing and puffing and made the comment about how challenging it was to organize 80 different people, yes she said 80. How many students does Cy-fair take in for their spring start program? I have heard from 50-60, but the director said "80 people," I am wondering if that includes the alternates such as myself.

I did, I filled out the information today. Basically they wanted to know your full name, any other names you've used, your social (as you know it lol), and your previous addresses for the last 7 years. I don't get why it's seperate from the background, I figured the verification of your social security would be part of the background instead of a seperate step. HTH.
