Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54
Pertaining to the required shots; If we have gotten the MMR shots when we were younger (1991) do I still have to get a titer or just show a shot record? Can anyone shed light on the shots? Also if I am doing this now, do I have to submit all of this again next year??
That's what I don't know about....I mentioned earlier that I had gotten my two hep b shots in the last year and when I went in recently they did not want to give me one because I had one back in 1993 when I was like 9 years old....idk....orientation should help us out a lot on these questions we have I am sure. Because I feel like I am in the dark...just glad that I did my background check and finderprinting a while back....hmmm
Hey all! Congrats to everyone accepted! I was accepted as an alternate to both kingwood and cyfair, but only signing an intent for kingwood. I applied with a very very low score of 10.3. I have been a xray tech for 4 yrs and decided in May to go back to school for nursing. I applied just for the heck of it to kingwood before my prereqs were finished (they will be done the end of this semester). I was pleasantly surprised to have been accepted as an alternate. I won't be too disappointed if I don't make it in this round, but that may help others figure out where they are on the alternate list!
I'm curious to know how many alternate spots r selected? Congrats!

Definitely something to ask during orientation, but email them now or call to verify. Probably just a titer is needed. The blue card ummm you should be mailed one. If you haven't definitely contact the background company and or email Valerie. I also thought the applicant pool was low, because they made the hesi a little more difficult, changed the questions and also changed how ur able to review ur hesi remediation area.

It's probably a good idea to get all ur shots done over if they r over 10yrs,because u want to be protected as much as possible in any hospital setting. You can always call ur dr office and ask them what they thought, they'd knowa better answer. Otherwise ur wasting ur time doing the titer, because then u'll have either make another appt for shots or hunt around clinics.

Amberly yes you will have to submitt everything just like ur doing now next yr. I read on one ofvthe pages, but atleast the hesi is good for one calendar yr =)
So keep several copies of ur shots and the titer is good for one yr also I believe I read that in the paper butvur physical must be 6months or less.
