lonestar nursing 2014 hopeful

Published

Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54

Valerie at Kingwood emailed me back and stated that they were unable to release that information to me. (In regards to my alternate number)

Well that sux......

So I guess we all have to do titers right? If you find a decent price to get it done let know please!

From what I understand, we need proof of an immunization OR a titer showing immunity to a specific disease.

okay thank u

Now I have another question.....I have had a previous arrest record....So 10 months ago I filled the do form and sent it off to the BON. I than had to do the finerprinting as well soon after that. I received a letter from the BON stating basically that I can take the NCLEX when ready...However, I did not receive a blue card.....HHmmmmm

I think you will receive the blue card after you do the background check/fingerprinting for lone star.

I did the fingerprinting....Once you send the do order off they tell u must schedule a fingerprint thing 10 business days later after mailing the order off

Has anyone did the background check?

I mean since they got accepted!

Regarding the background check, it says more information will be shared at a later time. So maybe we will learn more about it during orientation.

Oh nevermind seems like we can get started with the website that is given.

Hey all! Congrats to everyone accepted! I was accepted as an alternate to both kingwood and cyfair, but only signing an intent for kingwood. I applied with a very very low score of 10.3. I have been a xray tech for 4 yrs and decided in May to go back to school for nursing. I applied just for the heck of it to kingwood before my prereqs were finished (they will be done the end of this semester). I was pleasantly surprised to have been accepted as an alternate. I won't be too disappointed if I don't make it in this round, but that may help others figure out where they are on the alternate list!

I think those who said earlier that they think applicant pool was small this year....I think they were right.....I had a 11.14 and got accepted....I was def surpised!!!!! I was not planning on making it only small chance as an alternate
