Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Published

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

Hey everyone, if you haven't taken the HESI yet, the Montgomery campus is having a A&P 1 review on Friday Jan 24th from 8:30am until 12:30pm and then A&P 2 on Friday Jan 31st from 8:30am till 12:30pm. I am going this Friday and hopefully to the one on the 31st.

Thanks y'all! Redhen84 I took Pharm last semester with Janet Harris. I made an A with her, it wasn't bad at all!

I'm getting sooooo excited! I will be getting my vaccines next week and then will be turning in my application!! :) April is going to take FOREVER to get here. Does anyone know all the minimum scores from last year for each campus??

I think Ill give them a call tomorrow and see if I can find out! Im excited too!

I know at Montgomery everyone that I talked to had an 11.4 or above. I emailed Tomball a couple months ago about my score (10.5) and I was told they have accepted applicants with a 10.5 before. I don't know about Cy-Fair, but North Harris accepts the most students out of all the Lone Star Campuses. April does seem like forever. Do ya'll have any idea what part of April we will be notified? If a student isn't accepted will they still send a letter/e-mail?

With my score I got in as an alternate at Cy fair and Kingwood 10.76 (I thought they rounded up but they don't lol). The people who get accepted and alternates got informed the same day. I believe the ones that got denied were informed later on. I think they were sent a letter. It will probably be mid April.

Thanks y'all, thats good to know! Its been a crazy day, I had no time to call and I was really curious to know. April is way too far off!

Turning in my application tomorrow! Anyone who applied to the lvn program at montgomery hear anything yet? I know I'm just gonna do the rn program, but I'm still curious. Hope everyone is having a good semester so far

I applied to the Lvn at Montgomery as backup, but I haven't heard anything yet.

Getting ready to take my HESI in two weeks....I have been going over the HESI assessment review. The vocabulary seems like a piece of cake but I'm really sweating the verb, noun, pronoun stuff. Does anyone recall what the majority of the English grammar section consisted of? I mean it's been like 30 years since I have worried about nouns, pronouns, adjectives, etc. Lol!

Ok guys I turned in my application to Montgomery this morning and it looks like there were seven people above me on my page which wasn't the first and they were dated the 21st. Idk how many pages were before mine, you would think just one but who knows.
