Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Published

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

baandrew,

You've got this! You'll do great! Good luck!

Good luck baandrew!

I took it for a summer session last semester! I made a B, if I would have put more effort I would have gotten an A. I think it depends on the teacher because the teachers students next to us said they were having a very tough time.

Good Luck Baandrew!!!

Thanks y'all! I ended up enrolling in a 10 week online class with only 4 face to face meetings.

Hey Guys, just want to let everyone know I miss the A&P part of the Hesi by one point. With that said I am ok with it, and I am going to retake it again in two months. I am still an alternate for the LVN program, I hope I hear good news soon. I did call the nursing department to see where I was on the list and I was told I am 14. Which is not bad, because I was originally 20 on the list. On the other hand I want to thank everyone for your prayers. I know I should be at least a little sad, but you know what I ve come a long way to stop now. I believe God has instilled a great desire in me to become a nurse and if it takes me longer to get there then others its ok. Its ok because I am not given up on my dreams. I hope everyone good luck on getting accepted in to the ADN program this April.

God Bless Guys and keep your head up:)

I admire your attitude baandrew! I missed the math by one point last year and I have to say I wasnt as gracious about it. I am positive that your perseverance and faith will pull you through and bring you full circle to where you need to be! Stick with it! I'm praying you get a call real soon!

baandrew,

Keep believing. God has a plan for you. Yes! Retake the Hesi and focus on the A&P. Yes! You still could be an alternate. It's not over yet. Praying that you'll get in.

Baandrew this happened to me with the math. Don't give up just study, study, study. I know you feel down and out right now, but trust me when you retake it and pass it will be the greatest feeling in the world. Keep the faith!!!

Have a happy, safe, and restful spring break y'all!

nurses101,

Sorry to hear that your sister had to leave the program. I would be interested in books, but the problem is that I don't know which school I will be attending. I put Tomball as my first choice and North Harris as my second. Maybe, at a later date, once I have more information. Also, what size is the uniform? What is the color of it? Does each uniform include top and bottom? Getting the right color uniform and right patch would be a concern as well. Thanks! Good luck at Kingwood!
