Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Published

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

Do you guys know if the conversions were more decimals to fractions and vice versa or were they more metric conversions?

There were more metric conversions on mine. I know I had to study cups pints quarts etc bc I didn't know those by heart.

mine was similar to spring housewife...cups, quarts, pints, etc

The book that was recommended to me was the Evolve Reach Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3rd edition.

Hi baandrew,

These appear to be good resources, and I also have come across a couple of these websites myself. I do recall studying cornucopia as well. I will be taking the Hesi soon, and I was wondering if you knew if the vocabulary words were medical related? This will be my first crack at the Hesi, so any insight would be appreciated. Best of luck to you!

Also studio ratios! There were so many ratio questions on my HESI test.

I have that one as well, its a good one. I prefer the other as it has more practice exams and seems to include more questions, both actual and similar, found in the Hesi itself in my opinion. Of course everyone is different and learns differently. Both are great study books! :-D!

Thanks, Redhen84, I will be sure to studying them. I am going over math, many many times. Practice makes perfect, so I hope that holds true when I get to the test.

I took pharm online too and got an A during last summer I definitely will need to refresh before nursing school starts! Can't wait to meet everyone it will be nice to meet people that share my same goals!!

Could you please add me to the post? I have an 11.7 also and have chosen Montgomery as my first pick campus.

Spring housewife do we need the CPR cert before orientation??

Have you started a certified background profile? If so, it gives you a to do list and it tells you when everything needs to be submitted. DON'T QUOTE ME ON THIS BUT I THINK ITS 5/3/14. Go on to verify the dates please. ?
