Hi everyone!
I just submitted my application for the Fall 2013 Lonestar College basic track ADN program. LSC-Montgomery is my first choice, followed by LSC-North Harris, and LSC-Tomball.
I applied with an 11.81. Has anyone else out there applied, or are you preparing to apply?
Looking forward to starting a supportive and informative Lonestar thread, as applicants have the past few years

Agreed! Seems like on the others North Harris was the last ones to find out. I hope history doesn't repeat itself in that case. I also seen that some got their blue cards before the actual acceptance letters arrived. So, if we get them first that will be a good sign. I just want something already I keep checking this post to see if you all get yours before me.
So does that mean if we applied to all four schools we will get notifications from all?
Nope. You'll only be accepted to one school, so only one letter there. If you were to be put on the wait list at your top choice and accepted into a lower choice, you'd get 2 letters, tops.
Each school deals with its acceptance letters separately, so they all go out at different times. Before letters are sent out, schools have to send the list of acceptees to the BON and they do their thing, so it takes a bit.
People who get their blue cards before their application have applied for a background check from the BON before. Either they were accepted before and didn't go or they were in a different program, so they're already "on record. ". Everyone else has to be accepted, get their letter and FastPass, get fingerprinted, pass the background check, and THEN get their blue card
Has anyone had to do a declaratory statement (think that's what it's called) for their background check? I'm freaking out now cause I found out that I have to send in paperwork about my drivers license being suspended when I was 16 years old, which seems crazy to me, since i'm now 37. However, I didn't know we could start our background check before we get accepted, and now i'm wondering if I will get everything done before classes start.

I had to do a declaratory order when I applied for lvn however I didn't know I had anything on my background check because it should have been cleared back when the incident happened, which is the reason I couldn't do the lvn program. There is a form on the board of nursing website that you fill out and you write a statement explaining the incident, and get any copies of records of the incident from the courthouse or wherever, mine happened in WA state so I went to my county courthouse for records not sure where you go here in TX. After I sent everything to the BON I received a letter from them stating I can sit for the nclex after I have completed school. It took about 3 weeks to hear back from the BON but I heard it can take as long as 6 months so start as soon as you can! Hope this info helps, you can PM me if you need anymore advice! Good luck!
I have a girl friend who got accepted to Tomball last year and she told me they didn't get their letters until mid to late Aprilhopefully this year that's not the case! I'm hope by the end of next week we will hear something!
Does she know what the cut off score was for tomball? It is my second choice so I am hoping to get in there! I'm afraid my score is way too low for cyfair!
