Lone Star Spring 2020 ADN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

From reading everyone that got into Lone Star nursing programs I hypothesized one very important point. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you get anything less than A's in English and A&P there is NO chance of admission.

The only instance I calculated a chance is a "B" in English, an "A" in A&P and a perfect 100% on the HESI. Other than that, A's in your classes with a minimum 88% on the exam is my observed formula for entrance.

I see why so many (myself included) get so worked up about the HESI. Anyone else taking the test next week at a Lone Star?

If anyone has taken A&P at a Lone Star over a summer session, how did you find attaining an A over the six-week period? Also, if anyone wants to part with a lab book...(?)

Mine is low. 7.266 with a B in English.. English was a transfer from UH over 12 years ago.. I didn't do my research when I sign up for nursing school.. I could have retaken English over the summer to get an A. When I find out class has already started 1 week in. I was surprised to even gotten a letter considering my score. I just sign up for class this pass spring of 2019. Haven't been back in school for over 8 years.

Did you apply for both schools or just one? You can always retake the class to bump your score higher.

I am retaking English this semester. My first choice was cyfair and I did sign up for Kingwood too. I knew I wasn't gonna get in but I still wanted to submit my application anyway. I shoud have a 7.666 next time around

Hey does anyone know if we have to buy our own stethoscope for clinicals?

Yes, you do.

Okay thank you!! Does it matter if it’s adult or pediatric?

Preferably adult since you’ll be using that more

Okay great thank you!

I started up a page called Lone Star College LVN application Nov 26th. If anyone wants to talk about when we here about acceptance into it or not.

Hello everyone. I just came across this page. I was accepted into the KW program. A few of us are in a fb group. If you were accepted and would like to join... this is the link.

Also, an FYI. My friends git a call as alternates and got a spot offered. Their point was 7.44. Both of them. So it gives an idea for future applicants.

I was wondering if one of my sub score for English is 69 but my overall reading score is 82 and the rest of the subjects are 75+, my overall hesi score is 89...will I be able to accepted in the fall program? I read on the website it say minimum of 75 on each category .. I have a 4.0 also.. so after calculating the score it should be 7.552. But I’m just worried about that English sub section.. I don’t know if I should retake the hesi again

If you have a 75 in each category your score of 7.552 should get you in. I had a 7.505 and go into CF ADN for spring
