Lone Star Spring 2020 ADN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

From reading everyone that got into Lone Star nursing programs I hypothesized one very important point. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you get anything less than A's in English and A&P there is NO chance of admission.

The only instance I calculated a chance is a "B" in English, an "A" in A&P and a perfect 100% on the HESI. Other than that, A's in your classes with a minimum 88% on the exam is my observed formula for entrance.

I see why so many (myself included) get so worked up about the HESI. Anyone else taking the test next week at a Lone Star?

If anyone has taken A&P at a Lone Star over a summer session, how did you find attaining an A over the six-week period? Also, if anyone wants to part with a lab book...(?)

You will get in . Good luck! Any last minute advice for taking the hesi? I take mine on the 25th. I made an A in ENGL And ANATOMY . God bless you as well .

There is this pocket prep app you can download. Hesi A2 pocket prep. Pay for the premium version it is worth it. I didn't do as well as I had liked to on the Anatomy portion though. I'd follow the advice everyone here is giving; use quizlet along with the pocket prep app.

These scores are getting higher & higher, I may need to take the HESI again to score higher lol.

Yes they are. I went to the meeting on yesterday and she said that the lowest score that wasn’t accepted was over a 7.5 . That’s scary

Did they say anything else interesting? I went to one in April where they cautioned students against taking Pharm outside the block as you would still have to take the same tests as your cohort. This was at Cyfair.

That’s interesting, because kingwood highly recommend that you take it before. They actually enroll you themselves, once you email them and let them know that you want to take it. I’m enrolled in pharmacology for the fall. The only classes I will have to take, once I get in, are my nursing classes and clinical. Kingwood offer day and night classes, as well as a Saturday clinical.

They told us that there are over 1,000 applications and are only accepting 80 students. They bar is raised really high, and it’s only becoming more and more competitive.

Is that for Kingwood or both?

Wow! Here I am thinking I’d most likely get in with a 7.552 smh.

Don’t doubt yourself, because she said many people miss deadlines, have criminal backgrounds that don’t clear on time, immunizations and all. You got this .

Only thing I can do is take the HESI again for a higher score. But if I happen to score even 1 point lower than I did on my first attempt, then I will be below 7.5. At that point I’m looking at making the alternate list. So I’m in a shaky situation.

Someone with a 7.452 was actually accepted last spring, not sure if it went any lower than that. Wondering who she told you it was over 7.5
