It may be early but around this time, those applying to Fall 2020 are engulfed in an A&P course trying for the grades needed. Collaboration and early encouragement can only help. Fall seems to be the large cycle and a lot have had the same instructors. Some of us could even be sitting by each other in class and not know.
I know we cannot say who we are taking. I'm in A&P 1 at Tomball in a hybrid course. If I can be of any help I will do so. I have a study guide for A&P that's about 90 pages. In addition, I have a pdf of one of the books (I think it's Marieb).
Goodxluck in class everyone and hope to see you in nursing school in the Fall!

Yeah you probably right. I’m sooo ready for January 6 tho .

Are you first semester at Montgomery? If so , how it was ? Montgomery is my first choice for the program even though it’s the longest drive from my home !
I got 94 on HESI and both A”s in prerequisites. My nearest location is Cy-Fair ,basically 5 miles from my home . But negative reviews turn me down and I am thinking to apply to Montgomery or Tomball . Montgomery is the farthest, like 30 miles one way. So I am debating what to put as my first choice . If anybody can give any insides , I will be very grateful ☺️

You will for sure get into your campus of choice. I’ve heard the best reviews from Tomball, Montgomery, and North Harris. If you still want a “life” outside of the program I’ve heard North Harris is the way to go. Montgomery and Tomball are more cut throat but they both have higher NCLEX scores. I believe that Montgomery is the “hardest” out of all the campuses but most of their students succeed. Tomball and Cy-fair are good programs but both are very disorganized. Tomball’s orientation was literally a week before classes started so students were crammed to get everything ready in time for the program. I’ve heard with Tomball and Cy-fair you just need to learn to be lenient and don’t expect everything to be organized.

Well just keep in mind you don't want to spend time that could be used to study in traffic . And also take in consideration clinical hours and how far the clinics will be. Additional time you could be studying you'll be making a commute. Plus your financial plans with gas, food, etc needs. I always take peoples opinions lil by little because everybody views things differently and they are not the kind of study you are. You never know you might enjoy cyfairs program. . You honestly just have to do what is best for you and your situation. Good luck on picking your first choice tho, I know you'll get in first choice with that perfect hesi score. If you do choose Montgomery hope to see you there. lol

Thank you for your advice ! I do think about the commute ! I hate to drive long distances esp if the traffic can cause some delays ! How far do you live form Montgomery ? I also heard that they have amazing clinical sites with high chances of hiring after graduation! I take that into account too ! In Cy fair (my area) they don’t have teaching hospitals , and it’s less likely normal hospital will hire you with ADN ,but teaching ones provide residency for fresh graduates .

I live maybe 10 mins. I stay in conroe so its not far from me. But I was also thinking about T or NH which is 30 mins already not including traffic . At least if 45 is backed up I can still get to M in the same time. Tomball is about the same distance as NH but its going through all the 5 second lights on top of the same freeway traffic. I just don't want so spend time traveling when I could be studying. Really? Well what kind of jobs are the nurses that are graduating from over there getting? They have to have something going on for them to have double the application cycle at that school. I wish one of the schools in this area had year round application cycles. Not going to lie if my hep B immunity came back faster I would've been commuting to kingwood, or cyfair using the tollway everyday. Both schools are 45 mins not including traffic.

Frankly speaking , I would consider Kingwood too ! A friendly mine just finished it and she was very happy with everyone from schedule to clinical sites ! She went only 2 days per week ! All her classes were put in two days ! I would love to do that for sure , but I don’t know if I want to wait a whole semester . Hmm, I def have tons of classes to take for BSN , but still thinking what is the right way to do . Commuting driving 60 miles per day 4 days per week is little bit intimidating. People keep talking me down of Cy fair ! My girlfriend says it was so horrible ,how they treat students , that she would better drive 2 hours but be respected . Why you don’t wanna go to Montgomery? Tomball is little bit closer to me ! Like 15 miles

Thank you for your information ! For me the biggest issue is drive ! Tomball is 11 miles from me (20min drive) vs Montgomery 30miles (40 min drive) . I keep hearing great reviews on Montgomery but do t know anybody who graduated from Tomball ! Where do you plan to apply ?

Wow, well I heard you can transfer why hasnt she transferred to a different program? or at least tried. Honestly I haven't heard any negative thing about the programs. And I do want to. Its my first choice. M. T. NH. & K last . Only thing NH is a bunch of students like 100. M and T are strict programs but have the highest nclex. Montgomery is harder to get into. Thats all I've heard. Everyone I talk to likes the program that they are in. Even kingwood. A guy I work with that's an LVN he attends kingwood and likes it. I would go there but I don't just want to wait a whole year. I am ready to start in fall.
