Lone Star Fall 2020

Published

It may be early but around this time, those applying to Fall 2020 are engulfed in an A&P course trying for the grades needed. Collaboration and early encouragement can only help. Fall seems to be the large cycle and a lot have had the same instructors. Some of us could even be sitting by each other in class and not know.

I know we cannot say who we are taking. I'm in A&P 1 at Tomball in a hybrid course. If I can be of any help I will do so. I have a study guide for A&P that's about 90 pages. In addition, I have a pdf of one of the books (I think it's Marieb).

Goodxluck in class everyone and hope to see you in nursing school in the Fall!

Yes! That would be make perfect sense at this point. I've heard that some schools are doing the HESI online. I also heard that some testing centers are allowing a certain amount of students to take the HESI at a given time.

Well there is a waiting list anyways. So if you didn't already have an appointment made you are SOL

for the people that already has appointments. it says it on the website "students without appointments will be placed on a waiting list"

IDK what they are going to be prepared to do, but I can say I'm sure they will release a statement either Monday or next week. Just like we are inquiring I'm sure on Friday they received a lot of emails asking what is next since schools will remain closed .

That’s what I’m thinking too. I’m sure everyone is bombarding them with emails right now so I bet they will release a statement. IF the testing centers are open they will have to space out students so less people can apply. I feel bad for them because I’m sure it’s a bummer to not have an appointment right now (I was in that boat last year and I showed up to Tomball super early and got squeezed in). I wonder if there are less applicants this time around so they are also extending the deadline for that too? Maybe that’s just hopeful thinking but you never know.

Hi, does anyone know if they accept transfer credits from the University of Phoenix? I emailed multiple people and they said that I would have to send my transcript and they'll evaluate it. In order for me to start I need this class, otherwise I'll have to wait an entire year before I can start. Has anyone transferred credits from Uni. of Phoenix before? Thank you in advance!

Has anyone received any acceptance letters for the transition program starting June 1st?

New to this site..

I DO happen to be one of those students who scheduled the HESI back in early February.. It’s not all ‘tough cookies’, over here... I’m NOT waiting until the next application period. Any negative narrative I’ve read aside, it’s go-time, y’all.

Just want to give a massive shout out to the beautiful universe for those who wished well on anyone trying to get this test under their belt.. specifically to a stellar nursing director of Lone Star, way up north of Houston proper, who personally saw to it to reach out to those who had scheduled and had tests cancelled. I sure wish I could say her name, but no doubt, faith restored over here..

I took my exam via ProctorU. Albeit it was a headache and a half, and my puppy had massive FOMO the entire time, my video proctor reassured me that as long as she couldn’t give me any answers, I’d succeed on through.

Applying only to Cy-Fair, Fall 2020.

7.888.

Looking forward to meeting my cohort. Slay on.

Don’t take any negative comments to heart. It’s been hard on people on both sides. Awesome score! Congratulations ?? Tomball is my first choice followed by CyFair. Definitely happy to get in anywhere at this point LOL.

Hi,

Congratulations! I'm taking my HESI this Friday through ProctorU. Are you allowed to use a blank sheet of paper for the math? Any tips for the HESI on what to study?

33 more days till application closes, seems like forever! Good luck to everyone applying. I’ll be grateful if I get accepted to any campus at this point. I wonder if there will be less applications due to corona. I’m sure a lot of people dropped their classes this semester when they extended the withdrawal date. My micro class went from 24 to 14..

I just noticed when we go on WebEx we’re way down in numbers, only 14-15 people log on every session. Lone Star extended the withdrawal date to May 5th and a ton of people couldn’t handle it while dealing dealing with their own stuff. It’s a bummer..
