Lone Star Fall 2020

Published

It may be early but around this time, those applying to Fall 2020 are engulfed in an A&P course trying for the grades needed. Collaboration and early encouragement can only help. Fall seems to be the large cycle and a lot have had the same instructors. Some of us could even be sitting by each other in class and not know.

I know we cannot say who we are taking. I'm in A&P 1 at Tomball in a hybrid course. If I can be of any help I will do so. I have a study guide for A&P that's about 90 pages. In addition, I have a pdf of one of the books (I think it's Marieb).

Goodxluck in class everyone and hope to see you in nursing school in the Fall!

Hello Everyone!

First time applicant and excited to meet everyone!

I'm applying with a 7.65 and my preferences are CF, T, M, NH simply based on location and what will be easiest to commute to because I will live in Cypress.

I also *think* that Cy-Fair is the only location that offers the Block Program as opposed to the Integrated program (just a difference in the order in which you take the class I believe). My sister is a nurse and took a block program at her CC and really enjoyed how they structured it. She said it made more sense to her.

Is that true that Cy-Fair's program is structured differently? Is that a reason for applying to CF for anyone or does that change/affect anyone's decision? Super curious about this!

Thanks for all the help and insight y'all!

You are correct! Cyfair is the only one! It is the only campus structured that way.

Yes ! Also they don’t have break during summer ! That’s why the program is shorter . Make sure you are cool with that . I also live in cypress area but picking tomball as a first choice . I have kids and would love a break between semester

Does anybody know if CyFair finishes the program a semester earlier than other campuses because of its block carriculum?

The Cy-Fair program offers the 2 year program in the fall along with the other campuses. The one and a half semester program is only offered in the Spring. Kingwood is the only other program offered in the Spring, however, it’s the full 2 years.

Unless they changed it recently it was still a year and a half because there are no breaks

So, lets say we start in fall of 2020, then we would graduate in December of 2021?

Haha what people don’t like is that there are no breaks, it’s fast paced so a lot of information in a short period. It’s very difficult to work at the same time. There are a lot of things to think about. Yes you finish earlier but also it’s the stress
