Lone Star Fall 2020

Published

It may be early but around this time, those applying to Fall 2020 are engulfed in an A&P course trying for the grades needed. Collaboration and early encouragement can only help. Fall seems to be the large cycle and a lot have had the same instructors. Some of us could even be sitting by each other in class and not know.

I know we cannot say who we are taking. I'm in A&P 1 at Tomball in a hybrid course. If I can be of any help I will do so. I have a study guide for A&P that's about 90 pages. In addition, I have a pdf of one of the books (I think it's Marieb).

Goodxluck in class everyone and hope to see you in nursing school in the Fall!

Im applying for fall 2020 took my HEP B test in August and my results were negative. Is that all I need to apply for this portion or do I need anything else

You need to have your booster shot and proof that you’ve had the original 3 vaccines.

You actually want Hep B to be positive for its antibodies meaning you have the protection. Hep C needs to be negative, but it will be tested after you get the acceptance letter.

Hello everyone!

My name is Gigi and I will soon be apply for Lonestar’s ADN program.
I currently have taken A&P1 and 2, I got an A in 1 and a B in 2. I’m currently in Microbiology because I’m also applying for BSN programs.
My GPA is about a 3.73

I haven’t taken the Hesi yet but I plan on taking it next week.
Good Luck everyone!

Oh ok, so your test didn’t come back negative. You don’t need a booster.

Just curious to see how you did and what school is your first choice?

My HESI scores were:

95.2 overall

Math-100

Reading Comp.- 100

Vocab- 92

Grammar- 92

A&P- 92

Critical Thinking- 950

Those are amazing results if you don't mind me asking what all did you use to study?

I used the pocketprep app for the HESI and it’s just a whole bunch of practice questions and I would just do that over and over again

Well guys, I finally submitted my application yesterday; now we wait. Fingers crossed that we all get in somewhere! I was reading the additional requirements page and I noticed they are changing the requirements. Effective January 1, 2021, an applicant applying for the RN program will have to score at least an 80 or above in each section (75 will no longer suffice). The critical thinking requirement of at least a 750 will remain the same. I think it has gotten so competitive that they are trying to weed out some of the applicants.

That what it sounds like

Hello Everyone!

First time applicant and excited to meet everyone!

I'm applying with a 7.65 and my preferences are CF, T, M, NH simply based on location and what will be easiest to commute to because I will live in Cypress.

I also *think* that Cy-Fair is the only location that offers the Block Program as opposed to the Integrated program (just a difference in the order in which you take the class I believe). My sister is a nurse and took a block program at her CC and really enjoyed how they structured it. She said it made more sense to her.

Is that true that Cy-Fair's program is structured differently? Is that a reason for applying to CF for anyone or does that change/affect anyone's decision? Super curious about this!

Thanks for all the help and insight y'all!
