Hey everyone... who all is applying for next fall? Have you taken your HESI yet? What is your score going in? I still have to take my HESI but have an A in A/P 1 and am taking A/P 2 and Microbiology this fall. Also how did you study for the HESI??

Is this true?? I have a 7.84 but I didn't know the spots were that slim ? yikes

Yeah, but that’s a really high score so you’re good!!

Yes but your score is awesome

. you would definitely get into Montgomery

So I have a silly question... Is there a reason why people want to go to Montgomery over other campuses? Is it inherently better? Or are they all the same?

Not a silly question! For me, Montgomery is the best because it’s 10 minutes from my house AND they have on-site childcare. The NH program has childcare, but it’s not at their nursing campus and their nursing campus is at 1960 and Red Oak (which isn’t a great part of town.) I’m too far for the other programs.

Montgomery does have a good reputation, though so I hope I make it.

Oh that does sound amazing! I'm sure you'll get in! You have a great score!! My first choice is CyFair but Tomball and Montgomery are almost as close distance wise (I kind of live between them) and I don't have kids but if I did I would definitely be following you to Montgomery that's such a smart move!

I wish I lived closer to CF so I could do the accelerated program! Good luck!!

Is the A&P section of the HESI basic questions or does it go in depth?

It was super basic in my test. It did go a little in-depth on kidneys and endocrine, but not crazy.

Same here. It was pretty basic stuff I made a 100 on that part. But you should definitely know the flow steps of the heart. It asked two separate questions about that on mine. Not guaranteed to ask but better to be prepared then caught off guard. Good luck!

I thought for sure the heart would be a little in depth about the flow.  I am studying the skeletal system now.  Do you remember if they want like bone names and specific joints?

I only got bone names but I did get some muscles too so brush up on those. DON’T drive yourself crazy over all this though. You’re going to do great. This exam (in my opinion) was more of a test of stamina than anything else. IDK where I saw this but it was a good suggestion, eat BEFORE you take the exam. You’ll be sitting there for a while and your brain will be using up all your glucose ?

That is super comforting!  I hate not knowing especially with the A&P LOL.  Thank you for your help and good luck to you too! ?
