Lone Star Fall 2012 ADN Applicants

I applied to Lone Star - ADN program Spring 2012. I was accepted as an alternate. I am hoping to get a call from the nursing department saying there is a spot for me. If not I will be reapplying for the next application period for entrance to the program in the Fall 2012. Good luck everyone!!!!

Just had lunch with friend doing LVN at Tomball. She, too, is in the midst of a financial aid nightmare! What is wrong with LSC???

I have no idea but it is so frustrating. I mean studying your brains off and earning a 4.0 should be the most of our worries but having to do this every semester without breaking any of the SAP stipulations is just plain stupid. My appeal is approved and now trying to get my loans reinstated since they are now zeroed out.

I'm still fighting as well this dreadfully verification process hopefully in about 10 days I will have my money so I can buy books!

Yay my verification was approved!!!! Now just waiting. A week for it to update in the system.

I know the feeling. The samething happened to me, and the last 3 days I got the run around. Poor school didn't see me coming at all. I called the state on them and I'm already to go again. Now if I can just make it to class on Monday with all my hair after taking my kids to school will be great. I'm so excited.... 36 hrs left!!

just thought I would mention that during our skills I class the instructor informed us that all of the alternates for Tomball had been called to join the program and we had a few seats left open. I have looked at the numbers and Lone Star takes about 350 students system wide where as Houston Community College only takes about 208 and that is after they expanded their program

How did you determine how many students they allow for lone star and HCC? I've been trying to determine how many, especially hcc since they supposedly they expanded their program.

I have a question for those of you who have taken pharmacology. I planned on taking it this fall since I decided to wait until next sememster to start the program. When I called the Nursing dept the lady said I could take the class, but during the program I would still be responsible for the dosage calculations assignments, exams ect...so how hard exactly are the dosage calculations? also, im debating whether to take statistics during this fall semester, how was that class for those that took it? Good luck to all of you as you start the program :) I will be rooting for ya!

I did not find the dosage calculations that difficult for the most part. You will do fine. :)

The dosage calculations aren't that bad, brush up on metric conversions. And I took psyc stats and it wasn't too bad.

I just realized I have no clue what to take to school tomorrow....

And now I just realized our teacher sent out an email telling us what to bring, so never mind!
