I will be going to cy-fair!!

How was everyone's first day??? Let us know how it went!! :)

I have a question for those of you who have taken pharmacology. I planned on taking it this fall since I decided to wait until next sememster to start the program. When I called the Nursing dept the lady said I could take the class, but during the program I would still be responsible for the dosage calculations assignments, exams ect...so how hard exactly are the dosage calculations? also, im debating whether to take statistics during this fall semester, how was that class for those that took it? Good luck to all of you as you start the program :) I will be rooting for ya!

@Stephalump - Did you take the refresher course or did you actually retake the credit class (a&p)? I'm between a rock and a hard place...If I take the refresher course then I can only re-apply to lonestar, but if I retake the credit class then I can apply to a 4 year college (all of the universities wont accept the refresher course). I'm dreading having to retake the actual class.

Hi guys, I haven't been on here in a while - apparently Im not the only one going through the financial aid nightmare! I was denied financial aid because I have too many credit hours too like some of yall.. Ugh its very frustrating to come this far just to be slapped In the face. I know that things will find a way to work out but, im expecting a baby in November so I am seriosly thinking about applying for next semester (I have to take a a&p refresher course since my a&p expired this spring) its always something I tell ya......but we will find a way through these obstacles!!! Dont give up!!!

I have a 15 month old and I just found out that I'm expecting again. I'm due in November so I'm concerned how I am going to complete the first semester and have a baby. I know that with the support of my family I can do it, but just the thought of having a baby and having to bounce right back to school is kind of scary.

Thanks for the advice Kalisefer, I will def go to see what the price range will be (& possibly purchase some if the price is not outragous)! I've heard a lot of people get their books from Amazon. I know you can get good deals, but I would have a panic attack if I happen to get the wrong book or have to wait until the last minute lol. I need to get my background check/ finger prints done!! How long did it take you to get your blue card?

I received this email last Thursday from Mrs. Anderson at cy fair - Hello, You will receive notification by mail concerning your nursing application status at the end of this month. Due to our policy and student confidentiality the nursing department will not inform you of your status over the phone or in person. I REALLY hope that she is just saying the end of the month so the nursing dept wont get bombarded with phone calls ... Since some already got their acceptance letters, there is hope we will get them soon :) Congrats to everyone and good luck!!

Hello everyone :) I applied for the fall semester & I am waiting anxiously for the accpetance letters! I have a quick question....Can anyone tell me what the schedule is like at cy-fair for the first semester? I have a 1 year old and have to make arrangements with daycare. Any advice/ information is greatly appreciated!!

Ikegrad2002, good luck! you will do just fine :) I am going to take pharm this summer, but I don't know if I should take it online or in person. I'm afraid if I take it online I might not understand completely. Honestly, how hard is pharm? I would appreciate any advice :) thanks!

Congrats @mssweeney thats a great score!!! I applied to cyfair with 11.493. Fingers crossed... I hope this score is enough to get me in!!! Like you, I am tired of the process of taking pre-reqs and rejection!! Now the hard part....waiting for the letters! When I dropped off my application the lady told me that we should recieve the letters by the END of April. I really hope they are mailed sooner!! Good luck to all, Hope for the best :)
