I applied to Lone Star - ADN program Spring 2012. I was accepted as an alternate. I am hoping to get a call from the nursing department saying there is a spot for me. If not I will be reapplying for the next application period for entrance to the program in the Fall 2012. Good luck everyone!!!!
Ok question for the NH admits - the book listing states "Board of Nurse Examiners Nursing Practices Act" - does anyone know where to get this from?
Tlcarter,
If it is the same as the one we have for Tomball, you get it from the Tx BON website. It is a .pdf file and it is way too many pages to print. I tried several times to duplex it and I kept and getting printing errors. I have a commercial hp printer and it is supposed to be capable of printing 30,000+ pages a month.

I finished the two weeks basic skills class last thursday. This is the first summer break I have had in the over the last 19 years (since high school) and I am not sure how to act. Sleep in late, wake up and have nothing to do!?! Next week I have to take a road trip so I do not lose my mind. I am thinking Denver
For the skills class I was in, I found it difficult to complete the readings and the homework plus the quizzes and be in bed by 1am. I barely had time to sleep at night.
Yeah, I didn't do much of the reading, honestly. I was up at five doing statiistics stuff and then in class until 5 at night, then with the kids until 8..I just did my quizzes all in one day and made it through that way. Fortunately I'd already taken a CNA class. But I'm so glad I don't have any more classes to take with my nursing classes! After doubling up through that little tiny class, I cannot imagine how overstretched I'd be once we really got going.
And once my stat class is over I really need to get my Pre-reading done. We have class from 9-5 for the first two weeks and then our test is I've the first thirty chapters. I KNOW I don't want be doing all that reading then!

Ba ha ha! We are so much alike.... I had a brief break in July and went crazy! Let's just say everything that hadn't been used in the last 6 month was removed from my house and donated . Now that I start basic class on Monday, everything is coming to a head, but I'm sure I'll survive. So what were your thoughts on the class and any pointers you want to provide??

I'm sorry. I just saw this email. Have been in 'Prep' class all week, with another 3 days to go!
Maybe print it, sign it, scan it, and email it back??
By this time, though, you've probably figured it out!!
