I applied to Lone Star - ADN program Spring 2012. I was accepted as an alternate. I am hoping to get a call from the nursing department saying there is a spot for me. If not I will be reapplying for the next application period for entrance to the program in the Fall 2012. Good luck everyone!!!!
At least we know we will receive either an acceptance or declination letter. Waiting for it sucks, and not knowing when to expect it will drive you crazy. I am trying my best to forget about it so I don't go insane. One moment...(taking a deep breath followed by a fast thrusting exhale)....I am trying not to stress.
I must agree all this waiting is going to drive me up the wall. I applied back in January and since then its been in the back of my mind just lingering. Now that it is April its gotten worse. I hope we all get our letters sooner rather than later. I applied to CyFair with an 11.68 as my score so I hope that makes the cut. Good Luck everyone!
I wanted to let you all know that I was at Montgomery College yesterday and the lady told me that they were waiting on the list of accepted appliants to be returned from the state of Texas. They put all the names in their data base and then the already made letters will be mailed out. I'm so nervous and excited, but I haven't made a big deal about it with my family, so ya'll will be some of the first ones I tell. I think celebrations will be in order very soon. :)
Seems to be a lot of different stories coming from a lot of different directions. Someone said that they were told that the person at system who processes the applications or has something to do with the process, had a death in the family and this delayed the decisions. Then someone reported that a faculty member at NH said there was a delay at system, no details at to what it was, could be the death in the family.
The list of accepted applicants sent to the state was something that was done at some point in time last application period, but it did not delay the letters being mailed out. From my understanding, being through this last application period, Lone Star does send a list of student names to the state, but it is to verify a clear background check, which the student pays for when they have their fingerprints electronically scanned. But I do recall an issue, some of the students did not received their blue cards from the BON because the BON had the incorrect address for several of the students. Maybe Lone Star is trying to be proactive and prevent such an error from occurring again this application period. Whichever is the case I just wish I had not submitted my application on the first day the application period opened. I feel like I have been waiting for forever and a day even though it is not possible to even conceive what forever is. Is forever even real?
HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT GOOD FRIDAY AND A HAPPY EASTER!
Gmarks, you were correct. today i received a blue card in the mail from the BON. it is post marked April 4, 2012. You will receive a blue card in the mail if you have previously had a background check completed through tye BON. We should be receiving our letters in the mail very soon. HAVE A HAPPY EASTER AND GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!
there is a blog for the Montgomery transition program applicants, search this title

OK, I should have asked one more question: What do you feel has been the most difficult part of the program so far, apart from the studying, if anything?
Is the experience different from what you expected?
