I applied to Lone Star - ADN program Spring 2012. I was accepted as an alternate. I am hoping to get a call from the nursing department saying there is a spot for me. If not I will be reapplying for the next application period for entrance to the program in the Fall 2012. Good luck everyone!!!!
Ckfomby, I had two different clinics tell me that four week rule, unless u do the shots at the same time but I'd call wherever your going to get your vaccinations and ask. Also if u live near 1960 atascostia that's where I took my CPR class is was only 2 hours and $45 the site is savaheart.com the Houston number is at bottom right. What school did u get into?
I got my cpr from a place called when seconds count. They are located behind tinsletown off 290 between pinemont and Hollister. They are in a business complex that is behind that movie cinema. they have a website www.whensecondscount.com
Hey all, I have a question for those of you who are planning to go right into a BSN program after ADN graduation. What school are you guys going to? I have only looked at prairie view and Texas tech online programs, so far Texas tech looks better. Let me know what school y'all pick and why.
As far as the why, my choice is mostly due to ease of transition. I know plenty of people who have gotten jobs before they even technically graduated from nursing school, but I also know plenty of people who've taken months. If it takes me months to find a job, I'd at least like to be working toward finishing school instead of sitting around stressing about it! At UT-H we can get accepted early so we can start the program right away, instead of having to wait until Jan 2015 because of the way the application dates fall. My first choice is TWU because my goal is to be an NP, and they have the program that cuts out some work going from ADN to BSN to MSN.
I am interested in a few of the programs. To me UT-H is too overcrowed. UT-H also has an early entrance agreement with HCC and there are a lot of students that transfer from there. I am liking the Texas Tech RN-BSN program because it seems doable, I like the cost of tuition, but I do not like that is it all online. I like the RN-MSN program at UHV-Cinco Ranch because it is near my home and seems doable, and I saw a scholarship that pays the tuition so long as you go back to a community or junior college and instruct for a min. of two years. Those are my ideas or what I have considered so far. I did not consider St. Thomas or HBU because I have never taken the required religious courses and do not want to be held back taking more courses. Who knows, two years from now I might have a completely different answer. I might want to study law? People are unpredictable and change all the time.
I am doing the monday/wednesday classes for North Harris. I am also taking classes for my bachelors in psychology and if anyone else is taking the class let me know i live in Willis, TX so anybody intrested in car pool or anything let me know. [email protected]
