Today is the deadline and as of 12:00PM there are no apps being accepted, so they say :chuckle

Okay for all of us that are waiting, this is our official I'm waiting :no:, checking the mail daily :imbar, going crazy :banghead:, biting my nails :D, at the edge of my seat :coollook:, can hardly concentrate on anything else :typing, Kingwood and Cyfair Spring 2009 awaiting thread:yeah:We still have a while to go before letters are going to be sent out but let's keep each other encouraged and cross our fingers for everyone that applies! :up:

So who's with me? What are your points and where did you apply- Kingwood or Cyfair? :bow:

ohh well I'm sorry to hear that! My score is an 11.34 soemthing so I'm assuming I did not get in either..maybe as an alternate hopefully..I applied to cyfair as my first choice and then kingwood as my second so I'm not outta the game just yet...oh well, all I can do is wait I suppose.

but since we are all giving a little info about ourselves, I suppose I will as well lol..it'll help take my mind off of everything ha! I'm 20, married to my husband who is 22, we have 1 19 month old son, live in Conroe, and I work at a Starbucks lol..if I get into the nursing program I will quit my job, it is only a part time anyways..

I'm guessing that with my score being 11.25 that I need to apply to North Harris...

I'm going to keep trying to get in..I wont give up..

I have a question?? If I applied to kingwood as my first choice and cyfair as my second choice will I recieve a letter from cyfair as well...I was just wondering...I know it is a long shot to get into cyfair but I was just curious..

I applied once before, like a semester ago but I knew for sure I wasn't getting in...I had like a 9 point something score lol..I did it just to get familiar with the process, and this was during the fall so I applied to all 4 schools...I received only one letter and it was from cyfair which was my first choice...but I can't remember if the letter said that I wasn't accepted in the entire district, or just to cy-fair...but I know the letter came cyfair..

you're denial letter, did it say 11.4 was the cutoff just at kingwood or both colleges? and I wonder, is 11.4 the cutoff to get intto the program, or does that include the alternates as well??

For those denied my apolgies, but don't give up!!! Keep trying or apply for the LVN program if possible (which I think is more intense)!

Rnsg 1172 will be offered during the mini in December and January but you won't have to take it if you have a CNA license. We just went over the fundamentals: nursing history, how to take vitals, bed making, feedings and patient bedbaths, etc. (in the Potter & Perry book)and we were checked off on it so when the semester starts you can perform these skills in clinical. The first semester you will strictly be in a nursing home environment. It's not until 2nd semester where you will be doing clinical rotations at the hospitals.

I took the CPR class on a Saturday at Kingwood in December through continuing education. I believe it was around $55. So, check the schedule for it.

Hello to all..

I wanted to give an update..I have an 11.2596 and received my denial letter today in the mail...

In my letter they stated that the cutoff was 11.4...

Good luck to all of you guys that are waiting to receive your letters in the mail..

I wish all of you the best of luck..Congrats to those of you who get in...

My letter was from Kingwood!!

I will keep trying to improve my score and hopefully be joining you guys in the nursing industry..

Txmommy, I just got on and saw this. I'm so sorry, my heart goes out to you. I was hoping that we could start together, even though we don't physically know each other we've bonded over the net. Thank you so much for getting the courage to post your letter. I really appreciate it. You have an excellent shot of getting into North Harris because I have seen with my own eyes them accepting a 10.98 to start in the Fall. I had to retake my Pscy and Engl to get an A so I would encourage you to do that also, you also get another shot a Hesi and since you know how it's structured, you can have time go over what you missed. Once again, I'm sorry and hope to see you in the near future! :heartbeat~Hugs~:heartbeat

You were'nt by chance in a speech class over the summer at the fairbanks campus were you? Your work history sounds familiar.

No I wasn't, I took Speech last fall at HCC. Small world I tell you!

I read somewhere on this board for someone that applied during the 06 or 07 Spring semester and she said that she received a letter from both Kingwood and Cy-fair so maybe you still have a chance of at least being an alternate. I am still crossing my fingers for you. Can I ask, when did you recieve your letter and what part of town do you live on?

Erica I think if the cut off was 11.4 the alternates should start at 11.3, but what do I know. You're not out of the game yet, when you apply to both, both schools view your app together and make a decision on you from what I have been told.

Thank you Texastee...I have an A in eng 1301 and an A in psych...I got a B in A&P I...

I would love to retake A&P I but I wont have enough time before the deadline at North Harris...I missed 4 questions on the HESI exam which gave me a 92.4...

The only thing I could do at this point is retake the HESI and try to get a 100...lol...dont know if that is possible or not...

ericasafjaf: the letter stated that "the students who were accepted had ranking sores above 11.4...." it didn't mention anything about cyfair..So again I think you are still in the running..good luck to you..

I received my letter saturday..It was postmarked on oct 24th...

I live in the conroe area...
