So who's with me? What are your points and where did you apply- Kingwood or Cyfair?
Good luck future nurses
Kim, it probably won't be a waste. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys.
Rj- Sorry you got hurt sweetie. I hope that your pain at least subsides soon. We will hop along with you lovingly :)
You guys, I will be there at least 30 minutes early. Maybe we can meet by the bookstore at about 1:30 or so?
I hope eveyone enjoys orientation, I think you will find they answer most of your questions.
Bring a notepad and pen and maybe a folder to put handouts in. You will receive your forms for your physical and book list. In addition you will discuss your uniform requirements and re-hash the immunization and background requirements.
Your schedule will be determined after they compile everyones schedule requests. If they don't give you a copy you can log into the my records section of the lonestar website and check your spring class schedule. This will let you know what they registered you for.
Okay, so I was a couple of minutes late and didn't get to meet everyone. If you saw me come in, I had on a sort of army green top and jeans. It appears I am one of the top alternates, so you guys may just have to put up with me! Did everyone enjoy it? :yeah:Yea! First official "nursing school" thingy.
Hey Kim,
Rj and I were the on the second row from the door. I was too busy running my mouth when people were coming in, I was the 2nd person on the row and Rj was 3rd. Yay for being a top alternate!!! We may be together on campus after all! It seems like the program is a great one and Ms. Seaback seems very nice!
She does seem nice. She actually started there in '93, right after my mom graduated from the LVN program. She said they will start calling after the next orientation. If there are any students that didn't come to one of the orientation sessions, their spots will be up for grabs. Here's hoping someone doesn't show!
Tea, I met 'Pink' today. She was actually sitting in front of us at orientation. She recognized my boot. Nice girl. Anywho, we made it thru our CPR class. I purchased my scrubs. 2 sets, one for my car, just in case someone vomits on me . Pink advised me to look into buying my books on amazon.com and I did. Now I can't wait for those to get here. Next, TB, tentorifice/D, physical, and than I guess the background check(again), and drug test. I'm waiting for my NB shoes to get here again. Of course I probably won't be able to wear the left one for awhile.
Good Morning Everyone!
Rj- that's cool that you got to meet Pink. I hope that you guys had fun at CPR. What books did you buy? I wish I could have bought books on Friday but I might try to do that today. I'm also looking for uniforms but I prefer the pants that have elastic and jawstring, those are much more comfy for me! Have your shoes came in yet? I hope this pair is better to you than the last.
Kim- thanks for the heads up. I think almost all of us have CPR finished now. Did you guys do the AED portion, that was so cool to me. Sorry we didn't get to meet at the orientation and I'm still excited that you are a top alternate!!!
Pink- have you bought your books yet? If so, which books have you bought? I hope I get to meet you at the next orientation, that was funny that you were in front of us all along.
Okay you guys, have a great week! I'll check back in later.
Hey guys,
Texas Tee- I bought all 9 required text books for the spring semester, which also included the books for pharm and rnsg 1172. I bought them on amazon, it was 568.00 ( I bought all new ones since most were just a few dollars difference for new versus used) Mine are scheduled to arrive around the first week of December. Also, about the pant problem you were talking about, I went to the Kingwood scrub store on the feeder of 59, and I tried on dickies they were horrible for me! I tried an xxs and they still were HUGE! and the croch was HUGE as well. So, the lady who owns the place found me some fashion pants in a magazine and i got to try a pair on in store ( they were purple though not the blue we need) so they should be coming in! I also got my shoes, all my supplies (watch..scissors etc.) I got my scrub top, bottom, and jacket. I am about to go get my patches so I can get those sown on. I need to get another physical, my shots signed off on. The back ground check, drug test and then i'll be all set! I can't wait :) I got reeboks and a pair of pumas. I was going to wear some Nike Air Max but they were not my style lol. :)

oh RJ! I'm so sorry you got hurt. I guess we'll all see each other tomorrow afternoon! It may be a waste of time for me, but, since they still can't tell me where I am on the alternate list, I'll be there. I hope you heal quickly. I can't imagine how painful that must be!
