Hey there!
I wanted to start this page for anyone who is applying for the Spring 2018 Lone Star ADN or LVN program! I've seen previous posts, from previous years, and everyone was really helpful and encouraging to one another.
I am taking A&P 1 over the summer (starts 7/13) and then I will be submitting my application!! Im so nervous. I already took the HESI and got a score on 90.8%, which gives me and 3.6 on the point scale. I have an A in Eng 1301 and hope to get an A in A&P this summer.
In the fall I am taking A&P2 along with Micro (ugh). So if anyone else is in the same boat, let me know!!!
Anyway, I look forward to hearing from everyone
Hey guys,So I am also applying for the spring semester as well.
I am almost ready to submit my application to lonestar and have a few questions.
So I got my Hep B titer and the results were non reactive low even though I had the series as an infant. :/
I went ahead and got my booster Hep B shot and was wondering if I should go ahead and try to do the accelerated Hep B. The only problem is I have no idea who offers the accelerated Hep B. Everywhere I called only had the 6 month series. Do any of you guys know?
I'm redoing my series as we speak! I showed no immunity and talked with the Nursing director about it. I emailed the Nursing dept, so I'd suggest try and do the same. They replied the same day. Also, if you search up Express Family Clinic, they offer the accelerated series. There are 2 locations. It's like $25 a pop.

Oh okay thanks so much!
I already took the Hep B booster series which would be one of 3 shots.
I guess ill just go ahead and do the accelerated series just in case!
Another question, is the Express Family Clinic the one in spring?
Also I wonder if the accelerated Hep B is the same shot as the six month series except they just do it in a 30 day span...Because I recall when I went to get the booster they told me that the booster was just the same as starting the whole series again
Yes, Express has 2 locations, Spring and Conroe. I went there for the fast track Hep B back in feb. And you're right, you get #1, one week later you get #2 and then I believe 2 weeks later, the last shot. I did ask if it was basically redoing the series and I believe it was. LOL. I hope my body responds this time! I go for my third on 9/11. You may want to email/call and confirm that they'd want you to redo the series. For this round of shots, I've been going to Walgreens only. When I applied in person, I made an appt with my advisor and we applied together, the director saw my negative titers and the first recorded shot of this round and said that was fine.
If I got 90 and above each one, I would get a 7. The advisor said that it all depends on how many apply but I also heard that nothing lower than a 7 gets considered. I think I'm most worried about the anatomy portion.
According to the advisor at Kingwood, going by a "trend" in numbers, 2015 - the lowest numbers accepted were 7.0. In 2016, the lowest number accepted was 7.1, so I am going by that, but yea, you never know who will apply. She said about 200 people apply every year, but again, these are her findings.
I know that is a hard decision, whether to retake the Hesi, because it is very nerve wrecking. :\ I mean it's definitely doable.
For some odd reason my GPA shows 3.4286 rather than 3.5.l on the score sheet. I have an A in Engl 1301 and a B in AP I; so that should equal a 3.5. This is giving a significantly lower score than what I should have. I wonder how I can get it fixed before I submit the application. Is anyone else having this issue?
I've decided to just study and retake it. I think it's best to stick with a 7 and hope instead of a 6.86. If anything, I can apply again in January. Question guys, I'm confused on the Hep B titer. I checked on the Rediclinic website and walgreens, it just says Hep B vaccine. Is that the same? Deadline is coming up on the 8th and I wanted to make sure I can apply.

I don't know anything about the Hep B accelerated, but I do know that showing proof of at least your first shot is enough to get accepted. You just have to make sure you complete the series before the start of the program. I had to get the series of shots, but I started in April, so I am already done with the three shots.
