Hey there!
I wanted to start this page for anyone who is applying for the Spring 2018 Lone Star ADN or LVN program! I've seen previous posts, from previous years, and everyone was really helpful and encouraging to one another.
I am taking A&P 1 over the summer (starts 7/13) and then I will be submitting my application!! Im so nervous. I already took the HESI and got a score on 90.8%, which gives me and 3.6 on the point scale. I have an A in Eng 1301 and hope to get an A in A&P this summer.
In the fall I am taking A&P2 along with Micro (ugh). So if anyone else is in the same boat, let me know!!!
Anyway, I look forward to hearing from everyone
So guys, tell me why I retook AP II and still ended up with a C. I give up, I can't keep doing this to myself! I've taken 7 classes this semester because I'm concurrently enrolled in a BS in Health program and ended up with 2 A's, 2 B's , 2 C's, and a D! I refuse to take AP II again; however, I will have to retake micro lab because a D won't transferWord of advice; never take micro lecture/lab, AP II, pharmacology, and other miscellaneous classes in the summer time!
Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. I've been told often times to not try and take more than one Science at a time. Which is why I'm only taking Micro and Psych - Lifespan next semester. I'd hate to say it, but I really think you need to retake A&P over for that A. Luckily it will still be fresh in your mind! If you were to even score higher on the Hesi, would it bring you over a 7.0? Those 2 A's in the courses really help for that solid 4 points I think. Good luck, hun!

Thank you for the advice! I'm worried about retaking classes so many times because some schools automatically deny you if you've taken a class more than twice to earn a grade of C or higher!
Oh really, I didn't know that! Technically I've taken A&P 1 - 3 times! First time I had to withdraw after a few weeks. Second was last Spring, I received a C, so I retook it last summer and finally got that A! How many times have you taken either A&P?
I'd say if you think you could do better on your HESI, to go ahead and try and apply with the B. I had to take it twice to get the 84 average. Still not totally happy with it, but I figured I'd better go ahead and keep it how close it is to the application period.
Hey everyone!! I just finished A&P 1 yesterday, and I received an A!!!! I am so excited. So that makes my total score a 7.6. I am just waiting for the grades to be posted so I can finish the application. Anyone taking A&P 1 should definitely look for Dr. Erik Hoyer (Cy-Fair). Seriously the best teacher. He is very clear on what to expect on tests, and everything is based off of his notes.
Anyone taking A&P 2 and Micro this fall?? I am taking both classes at night.
Good luck to everyone that has applied!! Now we wait....
Hey guys,
So I am also applying for the spring semester as well.
I am almost ready to submit my application to lonestar and have a few questions.
So I got my Hep B titer and the results were non reactive low even though I had the series as an infant. :/
I went ahead and got my booster Hep B shot and was wondering if I should go ahead and try to do the accelerated Hep B. The only problem is I have no idea who offers the accelerated Hep B. Everywhere I called only had the 6 month series. Do any of you guys know?

But if you take it again and do worse the most recent score would count. Its kind of a hard choice. I took it 3 times as well though.
