2018 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls - Spring

Published

Hey there!

I wanted to start this page for anyone who is applying for the Spring 2018 Lone Star ADN or LVN program! I've seen previous posts, from previous years, and everyone was really helpful and encouraging to one another.

I am taking A&P 1 over the summer (starts 7/13) and then I will be submitting my application!! Im so nervous. I already took the HESI and got a score on 90.8%, which gives me and 3.6 on the point scale. I have an A in Eng 1301 and hope to get an A in A&P this summer.

In the fall I am taking A&P2 along with Micro (ugh). So if anyone else is in the same boat, let me know!!!

Anyway, I look forward to hearing from everyone 2MzmrmldDUluFszY4BeNRUhFw8YnK8nLzkBNSYABAA==

@SUCRIS Is that for Micro with Susie Heish? If so I think we will be in the same class

No, it's for APII, but please let me know how you like her for Micro. Have you taken APII already?

Yes I took A&P 2 this summer. I took Professor Galvan at the Tomball campus. She is the best!

Hey Liz, which professor did you take A&P with?

At Kingwood, AP 1 I took Rose Chute and again Dr. Jejelowo (where I got my A finally, lol). AP 2 I took Chute again.

Hey guys,

So I just went ahead and got my Hep B again (even though i got it last friday at IMU immunization clinic),

and at Express Family Clinic it is indeed $25 per shot as Liz said. It a little far of a drive for me (55 mins) but 25 vs 170? I'd take that.

I've read that after doing the series 2 times, If your titer still comes back negative then you would be considered a non responder/ non converter and wouldn't need anymore Hep B shots according to the CDC.

I wonder if we could sign some type of waiver for immunizations as well. Because it would suck if some people just dont convert

Awesome! I'm glad you were able to find all of this out, as it does sound familiar now that you've brought up the non responder! I have one more to go to find out if I am one of those unfortunate ones! The clinics are a drive for me, too, but I found that the Conroe location was never busy and more of a straight shot than the Spring location, which had crappy parking, too.

Does anyone know if we have to submit a hard copy of the application or is it all online?

i was about to ask the same thing, do we have to apply online and submit hard copy same day??

I hope it's not the same day. I applied in July. í ½í¸‚í ½í¸‚

So it is a Hep B shot, booster or do we ask for a titer?

When applied they let u know that all your papers are good ?

No hard copies are turned in. They just take your documents, make copies, upload them to attach to the online application and you take your documents back with you. Yes, the Hep B/boosters are fine, but you'll need documentation AND I had to take in my negative titers to show that I have indeed had them done. Plus proof of first booster, which shows you're in the process of redoing the series. I'm on my 2nd round of Hep B, after this I'm required to get titers again which will finally show immunity or like medic said, you'll be a non responder if it comes back negative again. Hope that helps!

LizFrank are u applying for kingwood?? so u just apply online no need to go to campus??
