2017 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls

Published

Hi there!!!! So I have been reading the "Hopefuls" forums from previous years and decided that it is time to start our own. I believe that this is a great way to support each other and compare our HESI scores. So here we come, all of the Lone Star students who are planning on applying for the ADN program please share your scores. I am applying to Kingwood for the spring semester 2017. My HESI score is 7.45 and I am a little bit worried that this could be not enough. :sorry:

I'd dropped off my application a few of weeks ago and got the email last week.

Hello Cardenas412, why do you have to retake Anatomy? I made a B in both Anatomy's and no one told me that. My score is 7.0446. I had an A in English , a B in Anatomy, and a 90.4 on the HESI. I did my best! So I will hope for the best!. Full time job, parent, and full time student so I pray about the rest!

If you haven't taken Pharmacology before the start of the program, you will automatically be enrolled in the course the first semester. It's an easy online course. It will help with studying :-)

Diva385 which school are you applying to? Kingwood or Cyfair?

Is the email from LSC in general or from the nursing department. Hopefully this means you have been accepted!!! I would call and ask the nursing department.

Cyfair is my first option.

Well I had a B in a&p A in english, but an 84 on my hesi so my score is a 6.7 :(

If I had made a 90 or above on the HESI I would have above a 7.0.

But remember it depends on your competitors in this class. Don't give up!

Thanks for the support Diva385. I have also looked into a BSN. I am currently enrolled in Micro and also getting all the prerequisites for the BSN out the way.

What helps me with anxiety is knowing I did everything I could and that it is out of your hands at this point. Remain positive. BSN programs are great too. I would recommend both ADN and BSN, they both have their benefits. BSN is quicker and hospitals are hiring BSN students over ADN students (mainly med center). But you can still get a job anywhere with an ADN. Plus, if you get hired as an ADN, your BSN is basically paid by the hospital.

That is true. I am hoping to make it to the ADN program because my husband and I just purchased a home so I'd rather have the hospital pay for it because we are tight on money. However, I have a friend who just graduated that had a very difficult time finding a job because she did not have her BSN. Hopefuly I get accepted this time :)

Hello everyone,

Im new to the thread. I recently applied to the lonestar ADN program for January 2017 and I put Cyfair as my first choice and Kingwood as my second choice. Has anyone heard anything from lonestar? My score is a 7.1554, Im really hoping that I get accepted into the program.
