I haven't seen any threads for the upcoming 49th cohort, so I wanted to start one (or if there is one already, please direct me to it).
What unit are you guys applying for? 🙂

I have yet to receive a call and I know a couple of others who applied for PCICU has not heard anything yet so prayers we hear back soon! I did hear that it was a popular unit along with NICU/PICU so they might be having to take more time going through interviews.

I've talked w/several people who either currently work or used to work in peds at loma in various units, and the consensus was that all the managers are nice and to just be yourself, and that's very true. Before we even started the interview, they told me that they just wanted to get to know who I am and what my values are, and even straight up told me that they didn't want any rehearsed or "chatgpt-like" answer. It definitely set the tone, and it honestly felt like a casual talk with one another & I was able to make them laugh throughout the entire time because of the stories I was using to answer their Qs.
I do have to say that make sure you have some stories from either your work/clinical exp and make sure you know how to expand on it. They told me that the more details the better, with a beginning/middle/end, but if you're too wordy/vague/not answering the Q, they would sometimes just zone out of the convo. IDK how other units ask Qs, but the Qs I was getting weren't like simple "tell me a time you had a conflict with a co-worker," they would actually expand the Q and were often lengthy, and sometimes I had to ask them to clarify on what they're asking. I honestly forgot some of the answers I prepared and just randomly pulled out whatever from my head 😅
They also never asked about what my strengths/weakness/what hospital values/mission I align with, so if you're also in that situation, I would just make sure to slide some of your strengths/values you align with into your answers.

Hi!
Did anyone apply for the hem/onc unit. Also, did anyone else get invited to the in person interview end of the month that's 3 hours long?

Hi! I'm just wondering to those who applied and was not selected for interviews, did you guys received any rejection emails? What is the status of your application?
