Loma Linda University- California- CRNA-DNP 2018

Published

Hello,

Is anyone applying to LLU this year for 2018? It just got approved to be DNP. Anyone who has experience with LLU, that would love to share the exprience about this Christian school ? any input would be much appreciated.

Hi there, My app is in. Haven't heard anything yet. Missed the MSN by a year. sucks but a DNP is something to be proud of i suppose

I noticed this is the second time u applied to llu. Can u pls tell me about how the interview went ? What did u do to improve ur application this time ?

you have done your research I see. Yes this is my second time applying but unfortunately I did not proceed with my app/interview last year due to my life not being in order for school. I had a lot going on, was buying a home, family planning ect This time around I have things in order. My application changed only slightly as I work for a education based hospital that has taught me a lot more about critical care, I also got my CCRN. I am a lot more confidant this time around.

I'm afraid that my science GPA is not competitive enough. Do you know what is difference between Priority deadline Vs regular deadline. I submitted my application on Oct, still hear nothing from them. When did they send u an email last year?

My wife works there and my cousin applied to the crna school last year but did not get an interview. Rumors are that they like their own employees who apply but there has not been any data to really back that up. I think my cousins pitfall was her social media accounts have a lot of alcohol consumption on it and they were set to public view. LLU I believe expects their students to be alcohol free during the duration of the program so I think that hurt her. The rest of her stats were above and beyond so that's all we could figure it to be. Haven't heard any response yet either and turned it in a week after it opened. What the director told me was that people will be contacted mid December for interviews in January. Since the deadline is the 15th I am guessing we will hear something around that date....Hopefully.

Hello,

I attended Loma Linda's RN-BSN program. I loved my experience. I can honestly say that my time there was life-changing. For one, I am becoming more and more vegetarian since I attended. I am not religious but I deeply appreciated their holistic approach and community service.

Yes, it is a strict religious campus. Yes, all the food is vegetarian and caffeine free. The campus and the surrounding area is not a place to party. (Then again, that was never a priority for me.) The student contract I signed stated that I will not do drugs or alcohol during the entire duration of my enrollment. The RN-BSN cohort were treated like professional adults. I get the sense that the rest of the student body were scrutinized more. I feel that it is likely that social media accounts would indeed disqualify someone from the program.

I consider myself a fairly.. hmm.. colorful individual. I have not had issues during my time there. As long as you go to Loma Linda to study and be a better professional, I really do not think you will run into trouble.

Hi cuddles,

Did you apply to LLU too ? what do you mean by saying "colorful individual." I'm wondering if I am not Christian, it will make me less competitive?

And also , there's a test called HSRT ? did you have to take it when you took RN-BSN ? How was it? And when are we supposed to hear from them? Good luck to us
