  1. Hey SD! I'm going to be commuting from north park! Where are you located? This makes me so happy to know that I'm not alone and someone says it's doable. I think I may have met you at the interview
  2. I only bought my house 5 months ago and selling isn't an option. Maybe we will have no choice but to rent it out but I'm going to take advantage of all the online classes I can get. It sounds like they are really trying to make it easy for the people who are far. I'll have to talk to them and get a better plan either way my spouse is on board to make it work bless his heart Please post if you guys hear anything about the online classes and clinical. Congrats to everyone! Can't wait to meet everyone in the fall!
  3. For the people still waiting...they are giving applicant who were accepted 2 weeks to confirm admission. Maybe some people accepted will get into other programs. Is anyone else far away? I live about 90 miles away. I'm wondering if Its too bold to think I can just commute when we don't have to be on campus much and rent a room during the more demanding semesters and just go home on the weekends. When I asked the current students one was commuting that far and said it was doable for the class portion....maybe not clinical though. I own my home and don't really want to rent it out. Anyone in the same position/have insight?
  4. I truly appreciated how welcoming they were. It was so nice to feel like they appreciated us and praised us for coming so far in the process. I absolutely loved that. I feel like I could have added a lot more to my answers but otherwise felt the interview went well. They mentioned a meeting on the 22nd as well but I'm not sure why that is holding up anything, I can't remember if they said or not. After stocking all the posts from past years it looks like answers were given out 10 days after interviews but the Doctorate program obviously changed a lot. Good luck to everyone, please post with any news!
  5. Wow so the first year we will barely have to be on campus? It looks like they are all hybrid classes. That sounds too good to be true
  6. Did anyone get any information on the hybrid classes? How much of it is online vs in person?. The curriculum shows asterisk on a lot of classes that indicate "hybrid distance education courses" My interview was Jan 28
  7. I got in! Jasmine called yesterday. I can't believe it. I felt like they didn't like me, I guess I "handle stress well" if thats what they were looking for? Still so confused, but very happy to have a spot and to know hard work paid off. To the others still waiting, I'm sure they told some a month for a reason...don't let down hope. There will be a lot of shifting of applicants I'm sure. Wishing the best of luck to all! (Also, I don't work for Loma Linda)
  8. I wonder when they will start giving news. I think they had another set of interviews this week. I was told a few weeks but some are saying a month? I hope its earlier than that.
  9. Daisy no one smiled at me either. I went in confidant and that was quickly crushed by the feeling of that room. Still feel like I did ok but definitely couldn't show my true colors and ambition with a crowd like that. Its unfortunate it has to be that way. I left disappointed.
  10. you have done your research I see. Yes this is my second time applying but unfortunately I did not proceed with my app/interview last year due to my life not being in order for school. I had a lot going on, was buying a home, family planning ect This time around I have things in order. My application changed only slightly as I work for a education based hospital that has taught me a lot more about critical care, I also got my CCRN. I am a lot more confidant this time around.
  11. Hi guys! I am on the edge of my seat daily for that email. Glad there is a forum going. Good luck to everyone!
  12. Hi there, My app is in. Haven't heard anything yet. Missed the MSN by a year. sucks but a DNP is something to be proud of i suppose
  13. @gmlewi After being discouraged by directors telling me my application wasn't competitive I got blindsided and invited for an interview in a week at Loma Linda. I hope your interview went well in January! Would you provide any advice to prepare? How did you feel about the process? I hear there are not any clinical questions and it is mostly personal and fairly quick. I hope you got it! Thanks!!
  14. Congrats!!!! Where are you coming from? Are you neuro ICU?
  15. Totomintea don't be nervous They instantly made me feel confortable just start organizing your stories now because they want a story for behavioral questions. So conflict, joy ect. Good luck!
