New grads:

Did anyone else apply to Loma Linda Children's Hospital's new grad program this past week? I just thought I'd start a thread for those that did, so we can keep each other updated as far as getting calls for interviews, preparing for the interview.... or, alternatively, commiserating about yet another rejection letter!

Specializes in Couplet Care/Newborn Nursery.

I applied as well, but trying not to get my hopes up yet.

I applied for NICU first and PICU second.

Specializes in Adult Stem Cell/Oncology.
Peds icu first, oncology 2nd

what's ur guys background like? I feel like I'm missing something here ...nursing is my 2nd bs..graduated as one of the top ppl in my class... Taking certifications left and right...nada still...

I have a BA in English and Philosophy and my BSN is from an accelerated 15-month program. Finished with a 3.8 GPA and passed the NCLEX less than a month later. A lot of my classmates have jobs already, so it's pretty frustrating getting so many rejection e-mails!

If I had known that it was going to be this hard to find a job, I would have made sure to get a job in a hospital (aide, unit secretary, etc) while still in school....

I picked NICU first, the transplant unit second, and don't remember the third one...

its been 3 weeks since I applied, I hope we hear back from them soon!

How has it been three weeks? The application opened up on January 3rd. I'm assuming they meant two weeks from January 7th, which was the deadline to get in all the supplemental materials. I'm hoping that we hear back by Friday.....ugh, just put me out of my misery!

wwooops! 2, sorry. This anticipation just makes it feel longer. Agree?

Just got my rejection email today...same ol same ol...well gl to u all :)

Aww I'm sorry to hear that toin43. I got an email today saying my app is screened by a recruiter & will be forwarded to the manager to review. Anyone else got the same email?

Good luck to all of us!

Someone that I went to school with received a call today from a manager for an interview next week. I just received an email today that my application has been forwarded so I hope I get a call soon!

A fellow classmate that applied got a call today for an interview for the NICU. I haven't heard anything yet, so hopefully I'll get the same call tomorrow or the day after. We were in the same program and our grades are similar, so I'm hoping I get a call in the next couple of days. As long as I get to interview for one of the units I applied to, I'll be thrilled...I don't even care if it's my #1 or #3 choice! Best of luck to everyone else! :redpinkhe

Absolutely agree! When you said three weeks, it just freaked me out because I thought maybe you were an internal applicant and maybe they had the internal applicants apply earlier.... That would have meant my chances of getting an interview were slim to none! Damn internal applicants, LOL!

Hey ebrivero...! Congrats on getting a call, I'm just wondering which unit called you? I applied to intermediate icu.. I hope to hear back from them soon ;)

Still nothing.... The funny thing is that I applied on Monday night, and my classmate that applied on Tuesday (or later) got a call yesterday for an interview in NICU. I'm a total basket case over this!!!!
