LOL- quit or be fired, part II

Hi everybody...just got off the phone with my (former) DON. If you read the old thread...where she told me not to plan on coming back...ie. "you're fired". I called to explain to her that I really did try to secure child care for the kids but because of a lot things that have changed recently (won't go into it all with you, but I did with her) I just couldn't come in. She said, "I have you down that you quit". I never did try to collect unemployement insurance and I don't know how this will look to any prospective employers. It took my about 5 1/2 seconds after I got off the phone to realize why she did it the way she did. :smackingf **sigh**what's the phrase...not to swift on the uptake? :0) Anyway, orientation at the agency is tomorrow, if anyone needs to be oriented, its me. Has anyone tried the funnel cake recipe yet? Hope everybody is well. I bought a sled but it looks like an early spring. Go figure. Ps. Prior to all of this, the DON liked my work and has wished me luck, I hope then that she will not give too poor a reference :sofahider

I hope she has some compassion. It's your livelyhood.

Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned...particularly a woman in a management role, unfortunately. They want nurses to revolve their entire life around the workplace in too many cases. Hopefully your future employers will understand you had a childcare emergency. Many of my later employers HAVE understood even though the hospital put 'would not rehire' in my background check info, when I explain what happened things go better.

Good luck and hope agency works for you...nice thing about agency is you CAN be flexible, make your own schedule around your families needs (barring emergencies).

Good Luck on your new job with the agency. I hear the pay is awesome and you certainly can be flexible with your schedule. When God closes one window he always opens another. The other new window has always turned out to be a blessing in disguise for me. I hope that will be true for you too. You're a good mama.
