Liu Brooklyn absn

Has anyone else here been accepted into the ABSN at LIU Brooklyn for 2020? I was accepted but I’m having a difficult time figuring out my next steps because I wasn’t sent a welcome packet. Anyone having a similar experience?

You will not have access to blackboard until after orientation or you pay the bill.

@khalidak For the bill, you mean is the deposit fee or tuition? I try to waive the student health insurance but I cannot log on to the account. I heard people say that there is a deadline to waive it. Do you know what is the estimate days to waive it since you become a Liu student?

btw, does anyone signs up for the orientation?

The tuition not the deposit. There is a deadline to waive it. I’m not sure what it is because I waived it last year. The deadline is the same for everyone so I’m sure this can be Google. You do sign up for orientation. You will get an email for orientation about 2 weeks before class starts. For now just buy your uniform and kit for health assessment.

Clinicals are in second semester. I’m supposed to start in the Summer but with the virus they have simulated clinicals and labs right now. You don’t know where you are placed for clinicals until like a week before you go. It’s all at random.

Someone said on the website that school lets them doing the clinical in the nursing home instead of a hospital setting. Is that true? Have you ever heard anything about it?

Hey Amanda! I also got accepted into the program for Summer 2020. Did you get any information on orientation or class registration yet?

@tary2347 I registered for classes already! And just saw that the Tuition bill got posted today but no word on orientation

Did you speak with someone or did someone contact you? I just got my acceptance email on Friday. And I don’t know how the process goes but I do know that classes start in a month, so I’m worried that I’ll have to rush everything at the last minute.

No I kept calling and emailing. I realized we sort of have to push a little bit especially because of quarantine.

Did you guys buy the health assessment kit through castle branch yet?
