Has anyone else here been accepted into the ABSN at LIU Brooklyn for 2020? I was accepted but I’m having a difficult time figuring out my next steps because I wasn’t sent a welcome packet. Anyone having a similar experience?

Hey, I'm looking into this program but I'm kinda 'iffy'

Mind telling me how was the process? Do they require TEAS?

It was actually a super easy process. They don’t require TEAS/any test for the accelerated. They don’t even want a personal statement. I did the application online and an advisor contacted me about a month later. They were pretty strict on the science courses being taken within the time frame so I had to retake chemistry.

However, after I got my acceptance letter it’s been pretty much me trying to figure everything out on my own. I was between LIU and NYU and I’m hoping that I made the right pick but being unable to get a clear answer as to what I need to get done before I start has been such a pain!!

That's really nice to know. I'm in my last semester and I'm looking to enter an ABSN program for the Spring semester. I think I'm going to try my luck here. The science courses I did, I have pretty good grades.

Honestly, I really wish you had gone with NYU given they would have been more helpful, because now you are left stranded.

I'm applying to NYU as well, I'm praying that I get accepted. I got accepted to University but I'm not sure I want to move to Pennsylvania.

Hi! I’m interested in applying to this program. There is very little information on their website. Are there any deadlines?

Ideally, I’d like to apply for the fall semester since I graduate this spring and have to take one course over the summer.

Any tips on getting in would be a great help! ?

I would apply in January for fall because they have rolling admissions so there are no deadlines. They will allow you in on a provisional basis. I had a similar issue. They also allow you to defer your start date to another semester if you aren’t ready which is very helpful. Just submit the online application, mail in all the required paperwork and an advisor will contact you within about a month. They will be able to answer all your questions!

Thanks so much!! Are they really strict about the B+ in each prereq? I have 2 B- and 1 B. Does the advisor contact you based on whether you are accepted or are they contacting you to let you know what you need in order to continue with the application process?

I just went over my own transcript and I had a few B’s. They aren’t too strict. I’m not too sure about if they contact everyone or the people they are considering. I was contacted by every school I applied to, and ultimately got into all of them. First they will let you know what you need to do to continue the application process (if you need to retake anything, they are strict about the sciences not being old) then they ask you your plans to fulfill the requirements and then usually they tell you if you got in. I had a very nice admissions counselor. The process was easy and they definitely help you along the way. Just make sure to send in all the required docs. Good luck!

You’re very welcome, please feel free to ask me any other questions. I applied in around January for fall but ended up pushing my admission date to this Jan! Going to be registering next Monday.

Hey, do you mind telling me what the prereqs are?

I went off of the literature on LIU's website as I had all the courses they had listed as prerequisites....so I decided to apply. Only now to hear that anthropology/sociology is needed...I find that very misleading.

Not to mention how many times I have called for information and I never heard anything about anthropology/sociology. Is that their way of scheming people's money in the name of application fee?
