Lisa Arrends notes were brought up recently on the EPN network at Excelsior, and the nurse advisor stated that she was never a student with Excelsior, but maybe she did the program under Regents. I used her notes and SG101 for Chronicity, and I found a few errors, and it took me a good deal of time to sift through it all, so I just decided to go with the required texts and Saunder's, which has been much more spot on as far as I am concerned, although I may use SG101 for Transitions since there is nothing in Saunders that correlates.
I used them for my NC exams, but for the current exams I wouldn't suggest them as the information is dated. I would suggest using the current study guide, the Saunders Comprehensive NCLEX review book, and the suggested texts. Those are the safest bet and can save you the retest fee and time limit.
I bought some of Lisa's study guides, StudyGroup101, TCN, and excel4sure. Lisa's material is dated and some of it is hard to print with the background and passwords so I stopped using it. I have TCN for chronicity, but it just seems generic and not very thorough. The excel4sure is just powerpoints evidently downloaded from various websites - I found several of them on the web while I was studying - just generic stuff not really focused on the content guide or exam.
Someone suggested the RNbridge program online, but I didn't want to spend the money. I ended up using studygroup101 the most, pretty organized and seems to be current and they seem to follow the content guide from EC pretty closely, which makes it easier to study. I picked up older books at Amazon for $1-5 each. I passed Health Safety, anatomy, micro, and I took Human Growth (in place of Life Span Development), and religions clep. I'm working on Chronicity and Transitions now and Kay at studygroup says they are working on a revision for Chronicity and Repro - not sure when it will be done. But I never see a mention of Lisa revising any of her guides. The studygroup101 transition study guide is a pdf portfolio type document and I'm pretty impressed with it so far. Just me two Cents! I know I am probably repeating old posts but I am having trouble finding any recent info on LisaArend's study guides from ebay for EC exams. I am stuck in a micro slump finding that the info is quite wide spread. I was thinking of using her notes for this. Has anyone used them and have any feedback?
