Life after CRNA school dismissal/withdrawal

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Life has its ups and downs! This is the worst for me.

For those who gave up NA school, withdrew or were dismissed, what were your plans B, C? I know I have to start from somewhere. I still love doing anesthesia. Any help from all of you is much appreciated.

Thanks...

Hello.

I know this is an old thread, but still very relevant.

I am thinking of quitting my CRNA program. Ive come to the realization that I am not a CRNA material. I hate the *ullsh*t and the drama..MY school is also not supportive of students whenever we get bad evaluations from preceptors (instead they make me/us feel like crap even more).

What did you end up doing after nurse anesthesia school? Just trying to figure out what I am going to do in the next months after I quit.

Thanks a lot.

How close are you until graduating? ^

Not close. I’m in the 5th of 9 semesters .

I’m sorry to hear that. Is it a lot of OR drama and difficult personalities?

Dude, you’re over halfway there! Just finish and then do whatever you want.

Thanks Dude, I really appreciate it. Part of me thinks that way, and the other half to quit. I’m thinking about the additional loans I will incur if I stay. Currently over 100k in debt. I know that will be so easy to pay if I graduate. I know it’ll be so difficult to pay that amount if I stay and get dismissed later. I don’t know. Just things that I am considering. But I appreciate your input.

I’m only just about to start school in January so take my advice for what it’s worth. If your school sucks, just get through it. You’ll be an anesthetist at the end. You can tell them to kiss your a$$ after you get through with boards. An honest conversation with the program director may help too. Hopefully, you both want you to be successful in the program.
