It's a separate mail and this is for all other Boards as well. The reason for this set-up is to make sure the transcripts are not forged or totally fake.

Just curious - I have applied for my ATT through Vermont almost three months ago, I am now getting obsesive checking their website to see if there is a date in the ATT section as they say the processing time is 3 -4 months. Anyone who has already gone through Vermont - was it on the web page before you got the confirmation through the post and if so how long?

Next question following this - for those who sat NCLEX in the UK - is there a long wait to sit once you have your ATT?

Thanks Jane

Edited title of this thread, as there are no applications for the NCLEX exam, you are applying for licensure as an RN.

Vermont does not issue the ATT, that is actually done thru Pearson-Vue, once they have received approval from the BON and have received payment from you. For foreign trained nurses, we always recommend that you do not submit payment for the exam, until you know that your credentials have been approved by the BON.

As far as getting a test date in the UK, they open up all of the time, just depends what is available for when you wish to test. Please be aware that you only have a 90 day time frame to test in. Have seen nurses get their ATT and been able to test within that week.

hi! good day! i would just like to ask.. i reccently passed my nclex last may and i received a letter from the vt bon with a card which states vt license rn. it also states that my license is effective on may 2008 and expires on march 2009. does the vt license only last for 1 year? i thought it would last for 2 years or so but im not sure.. i know that i need to renew the license but, can i do that?you need to have a ss# to renew it, am i right? im currently in the philippines and i still haven't pass my ielts exam and have no employer to help me process my papers, furthermore, usa is still in retrogression.. so i think it would take me a lot more years to process my papers. can i still renew the license even without an ss#? i was worried that my license might be revoke or something because i cant give them a ss#.. please enlighten me, a reply would be deeply appreciated.. thank you and God bless..

Some BON's have set times that RN or PN renews licenses ie RN odd and PN even, all depends on how the BON works. Many I think are understanding retrogression and make allowances that you are not in the US yet but that would be something you discuss with them

thank you for the reply.. i saw the renewal form for foreign rn in the vt bon website.. on the form, there is a question that ask if i want to place my license in inactive status.. do i have to say yes, out my license in an inactive state since i have no ss#? but when can i place it in active stat again? im worried that i may encounter more problems if i inactivate it then have to put in on practice again..

You do not need an active license at this time as there are no visas available. When ever you wish, you may have your license placed active once again, provided that you meet the requirements to do so.

A word of caution though, if not working as an RN in your country or anywhere else, then it would not be a good idea to do so as they require current work experience when you go to renew; then would be better to leave in its active state.

Hi Suzanne4, I would like to ask regarding my application in vermont... applied last 2006 and till then haven't took the exam inspite of the ATT do you think it is still active in 2008 since it has been over 2 years. do you think I should apply again ?

Thanks

It is no longer active, it expired when the ATT did.

You will be paying all of the fees all over again from the beginning, not sure why you never tested if it was paid for.

Once someone obtains the ATT, all expires on the expiration date for any state, and then you have to start the process from the beginning. This includes having everything sent in, as if you never applied before.

But you are going to need to check with them before you do anything, many states have a specific requirement that once you apply and do not test within one or two years, then they require a remedial program. It is based on you having the ATT and not passing the exam, though you never took it, but that is how decisions are made. That is why it is so very important to test if you have the ATT, and not just let it pass and not be used.
