I'm actually having my license endorsed to NC. It's basically all done online. Go to the SC Board of Nursing and go to the endorsement section. Basically, you'll just have to pay a fee to them and pay a fee to you home state to have them send of over you licensing documents. A background check will also be completed. You will not have to take an additional test.
It's even easier than that -- both North and South Carolina are members of the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact), so you can use your NC license to practice in SC as long as you maintain your permanent residence in NC. If you eventually move to SC, you will have to apply for a SC license at that time (but then you'll be able to use that license to work in NC, if you wish, or any state that is a member of the NLC).

I live in North Carolina, and am wondering if I can be licensed to work in both North and South Carolina. I'm just beginning my education, and have noticed a number of LPN jobs in SC. Also, I am planning to move to SC in a few years because I'm not happy in NC.
Thanks
