License school closed

I graduated from a state of CT run LPN program in 2007. It was an adult education program offered through Norwich Tech (and other tech schools around the state). Need to get a Mass license but these LPN programs were closed down years ago.

I need not only my official transcript but a certificate of graduation signed and sealed by the program admin sent in. The school doesn't exist anymore so I'm really struggling to figure out how to get this done.

Norwich Tech still exists as a high school, they couldn't find me during a quick computer search but I faxed an official transcript request and will hope they can send it. However, they were clueless about the cert of graduation. I can't be the only person who graduated from this CT program for LPNs that needs to get a license in MA, a neighboring state. Does anyone have any idea what I can do?

You need official transcripts and a signed certificate of graduation to endorse your license?  I've endorsed my license to four states, granted not to MA, but have never had to submit anything other than verification of licensure.  Is it possible what you saw was the initial licensure by examination and not the licensure by endorsement instructions?

Yes, unfortunately. I reached out to someone I went to school with I still am in touch with who does travel nursing and she said she also has never had to provide those but jas never gotten a MA license. I filled out the app and paid the 275 fee and can't move forward due to this. I reached out to the MA board but am thinking they won't be much help. This is very unfortunate as I've already moved to MA and have a active, unencumbered license in CT.

I'd recommend contacting CT State Education Department (it might be called something similar) to see if they have information about obtaing transcripts from your school. Or do a Google search on how to obtain a transcript from your school or a closed school. You could also look on facebook to see if someone has created a page for the school, or check LinkedIn to see if other grads are out there that might be able to direct you.

As a side note, there are several non-compact states that require official transcripts when applying for endorsement. I found it common.

Agree w/ the above post.

Here's another angle:  If the school was located and run by a specific school district, you can try to contact them.   Some schools may exist in the city's school district, so the records will go to the school district offices.  For example, your school was located in Whoville, but the school is gone.   You can try to contact the Whoville Unified School District to see if they have your transcript and graduation certificate/diploma.
