License of Endorsement for NY? Where do I begin?

U.S.A. New York

Published

Good evening everyone,

I'm a newly licensed RN from NJ. I'm new to this site as a member but I've certainly come here many time for answers.

My question for right now is about the license of endorsement for NY. I have a current, active, license in New Jersey but I would also like to apply to have a license in New York as well. I've read through many of the past threads about this same subject but a few problems have come up from that:

1) The links bring me to nothing

2) Once I navigate around the NY BON, I'm not too sure I'm even in the right place or know which forms to fill out.

http://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/nurse/nurseforms.htm

This link has many forms. But what do I fill out? All of them? And where do I send them?

I'd really like to get this process kicked off ASAP so if any1 knows the process, please let me know.

Thanks in advanced for any guidance you all can give me. :nurse:

CVS is something all International trained nurses have to go through and average time is 6-8 months. Suggest you check out the International forum found under the world tab above

Hi everyone. I'm very new to this site and seems really very helpful. I have a NY RN license but I plan to get a license in Florida as well. Can I have them both? What is the difference between getting a license by endorsement and reciprocity? I'm really confused about this one. Please I need an answer before I will get started with the processing. I appreciate it.

You can have a license and maintain a license in as many states as you want as long as you meet their requirements for endorsement. NCLEX has reciprocity because it is accepted by all states, license is what you endorse

Hi,

I currently hold my RN license in both NJ and PA, both active. I am planning to endorse for a NY license. I have all the requirements set except for the fact that I am not sure if still need to verify my PA license through my state (by filling out form 3). I already verified my NJ license through nursys.com, taken the child abuse and infection control online classes and got the certificates. All i need to do is mail form 1 after having it notarized and submit form 2 to my school so the registrars office can do their part.

If anyone can help me with the verification part of both my licenses, please let me know! Thank you!

Contact the NY BON or Office of Professions, look them up on Google. All info is on their website. Before I got my current job in NY I was in process of applying for NJ license and that required to do a verification of my NY license online, pay $30 to i think NurseVerify, or something like that. I never got to it as I got hired in NY. But do call NY BON to ask, they may also require the verification.

PA does not participate in Nursys, you will need to submit paperwork and fee to PA for license verification to NY.

Thank you. Yea i called NY BON today, and yes i still need to verify my PA license on top of verifying my NJ license through nursys.com, as a rationale they need to make sure all my licenses are clean without charges, etc.

Thank you. I will be sending form 3 to PA BON for verification along with its 40$ fee. I PA state would participate in nursys. so much more convenient.

Hello to everyone.I am new in this forum and it seems helpful upon reading different experiences with regards to NY RN endorsement. Well, on my part I'm done with everything the CVS (already reported to NYSED), form 1 and the 2 trainings (already submitted to the board) and lastly the form 3 (already submitted to California BRN). So my question would be, how long will it takes before the NYSED issue my license?
